Vinted stress

I've sold loads of items on Vinted with no issues. Usually low cost items like second hand baby bits or old tops for £1 or £2. A week or so ago I decided to sell some new trainers on there that didn't fit rather than pay to return them to store. Sold them for £30 so still not mega high price but still more than usual.
They haven't been delivered and the tracking status says they are still shipping. There's a note saying delivery is taking longer and if they aren't marked as received by mid June Vinted will mark them as lost and offer up to £20.
So I'm losing out on a tenner because the one high ish value item I've sent has somehow gone missing.
I send them via Inpost and as I said I've never had issues before.
Has anyone else experienced this? Surely Vinted should cover the whole cost? They can see what they sold for.

I've only had 1 item go missing from well over 100 sold; a BNWT F1 t shirt. Sent via InPost/RM and it went missing at their PO. I got a full refund.

Most items turn up after a couple of days but if not, vinted tell you when it's deemed 'lost'.

Bear with it for now

I bought something back in April. Sent via yodel. Tracking didn't move for almost 4 weeks - showing as 'received at blah blah off license'

I was told I had until 23 May to wait and then 2 days to open a case.

It turned up yesterday. That literally took best part of a month

So all is not lost just yet

Everything I've sold on vinted the buyer sorts the postage label - don't see how it's the OPs fault?

You chose what postage options are available

Selling higher price? Take off the options with lower coverage

I just bought a dress.

The seller sent something entirely different. Mixed up label I guess.

Vinted have told me that their policy is I, me, the buyer who has not fucked up, pay to return the item. There is no option for the seller to pay for the return postage.

It’s only a few quid but absolutely batshit as a policy.

It's a ridiculous policy

I brought some Lego. As I was walking back to the car I realised pieces were falling out as the package had been ripped and the box crushed open

I had to either pay full price (despite pieces probably missing) or pay to return to seller as Vinted deemed it "unable to prove it wasn't functional"

Buyer Protection means very little

I've got prices ranging from £2 to £50. Can you remove the lower coverage options on individual items? I don't want to remove them altogether as they are the most convenient.

Does anyone have a list of what the different compensation options are for the different providers on Vinted? I can see InPost is £20 but can’t work the others out!

Expo23 · 20/05/2024 21:39

This happens a lot with inpost. The date of resolution can randomly change to a week or so later too. They often show up. However, I have changed my settings so I don't offer InPost anymore as they often take longer than Evri and others and it is hassle when you are waiting to see if they are actually lost.

ewanisdreaming · 20/05/2024 21:47

I've had this a few times with inpost and yodel and only once in over a year has it never turned up, sometimes tracking doesn't update for days then all of a sudden it's delivered

neilyoungismyhero · 20/05/2024 23:24

I'm new to vinted. The first parcel that was dealt with by In Post took ages. The next one was via Evri and was much quicker and easier.
Reading these posts I'll be careful what I sell. They refused to sell a pair of dm's saying they couldn't verify their authenticity so I just sold them on Ebay.
