Purely random curiosity after watching some 90’s game shows. Would love to hear from anyone who appeared on one of these - more so if you won! How long before you received your prizes? Where did you moor your speedboat?

I haven't been on anything. But a mum from the school gate was on ant and decs Saturday night takeaway. She won the whole lot and was so overjoyed, she started to take her top off. That made for interesting conversations after it was broadcast.

A friends wife is an octochamp on countdown.
She is autistic and is always researching everything
she can think of. Her memory is out of this world.

Ask The Family in 1979. We won the series. The prize money was about £500 in cash.

I think Barnstable looks quite nice but I can see some more glamour with Barbados as a a headline prize.

Yeah went on a bbc one last year. It was madly fun, I couldn't stop grinning because I was on a game show set and it was all so bizarre. I came second. That made me want to do more but my applications haven't been picked up!

Not me but friend’s mum went on Big Break and won a white goods item (dishwasher or something). Ronnie O’Sullivan was playing for her and ended up dating friend (was at start of his snooker career). No one said anything about Jim Davidson but this was in the days when his humour and misogyny was “acceptable”.
