To think Mumsnet should have a feature so that you can filter only the OP's responses...

...but maybe there is such a feature and I'm just not aware of it.

It would be such a great feature if you could click and select to see all the OP's responses so you don't have to read through 20 pages of responses before commenting, many of which are completely irrelevant as they have not bothered (or had time, totally get this) to read all the responses before replying.

Mumsnet - can we have this, please??

Why do posters use an app that doesn't have the functionality that the mobile site does?

What is stopping them using their browser and bookmarking the site?

Musicaltheatremum · 17/05/2024 09:11

If you have an android phone you can't do this.

You can if you read Mumsnet on a browser. As I'm doing right now, on my Samsung phone.

Maddy70 · 17/05/2024 16:47

Yes!!!!

saraclara · 17/05/2024 16:47

mewkins · 17/05/2024 09:43

Exactly. Lots of features not available on the android app, it's frustrating.

So don't use it! I post on Mumsnet exclusively on my Samsung phone, using chrome. It's a far better experience so the app is entirely pointless.

I agree. Until the MN techies can provide the same functionality on the app as the browser they might as well scrap it.

Why don't people use the browser?

Not on my android, I have report/hide and flip, share and comment. No filtering OP or thanking

Same here.

Use the browser and delete the app.

That's because you're using the app. Just use chrome on your android. It's much better.

I have an Android phone and I can do it.

Use the browser and delete the app.

I find the app less visually 'noisy'. Suits my autistic brain better.

I would actually like a ‘see my own’ button so I can just read back my own posts on long threads. Not because I’m so witty and interesting, but because i usually am on long running threads about diets or fitness and it would be quite handy to be able to go back and re-read my progress without having to read everyone’s. I’m sure it must be possible because your own threads are highlighted in colour, so it’s probably not too much of an ask.
@mnhq?

This is a Premium feature. So you can do it if you want to pay £50 a year or whatever the cost is! It’s the only thing I miss since I stopped being a Premium member.

I don't have the app so I don't know how different it is from the browser.

How is the app less visually "noisy"?
I hope you don't mind me asking.

I have an Android phone and I can do it.

I can't on the app...could this be it?. Think I can on the website but find it clunkier on my phone..

Musicaltheatremum · 20/05/2024 09:38

And if I'd read all the responses to my post I'd have realised I need to use chrome!!! 🤣 I'll need to delete the app though as using chrome automatically takes me to the app.

Yes, that is another very annoying feature of the useless android app!

@mnhq?

It used to be possible to do this but MNHQ stopped it from working.

When you click "See all" the URL changes to (thread URL)+?postsby=(OP username)

For a while after the "See All" button was introduced you could copy either your own username or the username of another poster on the thread, click "see all" and replace the OP username with thr username you wanted to see, and it would show you those posts.

Then it suddenly stopped working. No idea why.

On the app though see all (and thanks) isn't available.

Exactly. Maybe it is with iPhone but on my android app I can't see all or do thanks
