To think Mumsnet should have a feature so that you can filter only the OP's responses...

...but maybe there is such a feature and I'm just not aware of it.

It would be such a great feature if you could click and select to see all the OP's responses so you don't have to read through 20 pages of responses before commenting, many of which are completely irrelevant as they have not bothered (or had time, totally get this) to read all the responses before replying.

Mumsnet - can we have this, please??

That said I do think the app is a bit shit. Come on MNHQ we could do with something a bit more 2024.

NotAThrowaway · 17/05/2024 10:10

Ah I hope you don’t mind that this made me laugh OP!

But I absolutely agree with you on people not bothering to read threads, or even just the OP’s posts. 30 pages in, your question regarding the original post has probably been answered…

WorriedRelative · 17/05/2024 10:16

Bankholidayhelp · 17/05/2024 09:59

Not on my android, I have report/hide and flip, share and comment. No filtering OP or thanking

Same here, the app is shit. Can't name change either

Stressybetty · 17/05/2024 10:23

Yep android app here too. No option for filtering

supercalafragilisticexpealidocious · 17/05/2024 10:25

There is and it's literally called "filter". You swipe left on the OPs post and it gives you an option to filter.

fiftyandfat · 17/05/2024 10:30

"Why do so many people not bother to use this - far too many responses where they clearly haven't read all the OP's updates".

This drives me nuts. So many threads with a load of completely irrelevant responses from people who clearly haven't even read the OP, never mind the OP's responses and updates. It has got much worse recently. I know it is just a chat site, but some posters are genuinely asking for support/advice in difficult situations and it must be distressing to realise that people can't be bothered to read your posts, yet still pile in with their "advice".

Sorry misread it as saying there should be a 'stupid' button, had got used to the sarcasm on this thread and didn't read it in detail.

Now that’s a bloody great idea 👏

Can we have a ‘stupid’ button MN? 😂🤣😆 Pleeeeeeeeease (not for you, OP)

Davros · 17/05/2024 10:33

On the app there's a sort-of triangle thing top right. You can see all the posts of any user including OP. I often use it. Can't thank anyone though

SpeculatingRooks · 17/05/2024 10:37

No triangles here 🤷‍♀️

Not on the crappy phone app!

JanglingJack · 17/05/2024 10:39

Ooh I like this post, it's on a par with the radio anus post from yesterday 🤣

Nope.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/05/2024 11:07

So if works on iphone and the app

You all need to swap to iPhones

It's a phone problem not a mn problem

😂😂😂

MistyGreenAndBlue · 17/05/2024 11:08

Musicaltheatremum · 17/05/2024 09:11

If you have an android phone you can't do this.

I do and I can. Maybe you mean the app. I don't use it. Just the mobile site on my browser

LauderSyme · 17/05/2024 11:08

facepalm

For lots of reasons all exemplified by this thread.

araiwa · 17/05/2024 11:09

I don't understand how anyone can have an app that's worse than using a browser.

You'd think that for the data they can harvest and ads they target you with that they'd want more people to use the app but it's actually worse.

Mn and YouTube spring to mind

Seems a bit of an over reaction no? 😁😁
The thanks and filtering doesn't work on my pixel 7a in the app.

The app is 'easier' (for me) and I don't get loads of ads popping up where as I do when using a browser. Plus I don't mind the not being able to thank people or filter the OP.

The other thing I can't see via the app is when someone has thanked me. I have to wait for the email telling me.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 17/05/2024 11:14

PaminaMozart · 17/05/2024 09:40

I totally agree!

In very long threads I often wonder whether to post again, in case I repeat - or even worse, contradict! - myself...

You can do this by filtering posts by username. Just pick your own name.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/05/2024 11:39

It is annoying that the app that mn promote doesn't alllow

To quote a quote

Thanks

Edit

I did do a post the other week on site stuff asking when it will happen

PurpleBugz · 17/05/2024 11:51

Thanks for posting this OP!! I did not know this and it's going to be most helpful 😊

Seeline · 17/05/2024 12:53

I can't believe anyone uses the android app - it is appallingly bad. Nothing like the iOS version.
I always just use the mobile version of the website. All features available there.

SpeculatingRooks · 17/05/2024 10:37

No triangles here 🤷‍♀️

What options are in the 3 dots?

crenellations · 17/05/2024 16:39

Just use the browser version on Android - everything works fine. You don't need an app for every single website (much as every single website would like you to!)

ThisKookyBlueSnake · 17/05/2024 16:42

Musicaltheatremum · 17/05/2024 09:11

If you have an android phone you can't do this.

You can if you're in a browser. I can see it.
