Is it just me or is it weird to see an 50-60 year old getting a doll as a gift because she’s been asking for one? And I mean now, not when she was a child…

Ive always found it weird. There is some context behind this but I just wanted general consensus.
feels like this woman I know may be going through a midlife crisis or something..
she’s losing her relations due to her own bad attitude and behaviour but is now obsessing over a doll..

she talks to it.. brushes her hair.. sits her up with her when it’s dinner time..

i mean, each to their own, is what I wish I could say but this doesn’t feel right to me.

I have a collection of Sasha dolls. They live in bookcases as kind of bookends. I don't talk to them though.

I have a collection of Sasha dolls.
I used to have those, I also loved my Pippa dolls.

The whole point of being an adult is that you can do whatever you want as long as you aren't causing harm to anyone. If they're causing no harm then I see no problem with it.

I have been collecting Sindy dolls for the last 30 years. My parents could not afford to buy one for me when I was a child, so I buy them for myself now that I can.

I am a high earning professional and perfectly healthy in mind and body.

I used to be embarrassed to admit that I like dolls, but as I've got older, I've realised that I couldn't give a shit what other people think about them. I also realise that many other perfectly mentally functioning women like them too.

No one I know has ever expressed any concern - faux or real - that I might have dementia (I clearly have not). If they ever entertain such thoughts, they are wise to keep them to themselves.

WTF is a “50-60” year old?
