Would you find this odd ? Guy I’m dating

The guy I’m dating has told me today he’s been out for the afternoon with an old friend. It’s also his mates exs best friend. She’s recently had a baby and is a single parent and he’s gone out with her to meet the baby and went for lunch together and then went to her house. He has told me this quite openly. They plan to meet again soon. Would you find it odd?

I'd say it's probably fine. The one thing that could be suspicious...the baby.
I'm trying to think of it's that normal for a guy to want to meet a brand new baby that belongs to an old friend who's currently single? I'm the wrong age for babies but most of my male friends wouldn't go out of their way to meet one.
Unless it was theirs.
But maybe that's me just being cynical.
