Child sexual abuse/rape.

I have been reading the following news article and it’s absolutely vile!

Any peadophilia is awful but it makes it feel somehow worse when a parent, who is meant to protect their child, is the one abusing them/facilitating it.

Fortunately, it sounds as though this little girl wasn’t physically harmed and they were caught before any physical contact took place.

But AIBU to think that the mum and her lover should be named and shamed?

I understand that the child’s identity needs protecting but these people are horrific and not being named is protecting them.

Why should they get to have an easy life and pretend to have been sent to prison for something else, when they are the awful human beings.

What to you think?
Should they be named and shamed or is it right that their names aren’t given to protect the child?

I am really really anti-vigilante justice and I find those who have a bit of a hard on at the thought of physically harming “pedos” (even one’s not convicted or one’s just rumoured to be “pedos”) aren’t doing so because they care about children. They wanna play out their sick little righteous fantasy of violence and think doing it to a pedophile will grant them some sort of hero status.

I believe that the correct technical term is kiddie fiddler.

There are other terms but it all boils down to the same thing.

I know someone who's been to prison. The attitude of op was observed by my friend in the prison officers. Said the ones connected to child sexual assault or murder always lied about why they were in and other prisoners find out from the officers letting it slip. I'm not sure how I feel about that but thought I'd put my two pennies into the discussion

I’ve never been to prison (in that sense, I have to work purposes) and maybe I’ve watched too much Bad Girls but isn’t it bad etiquette to share or ask why people are there?

I don’t think prison officers should be sharing that information. But I also thought categories system meant that sex offenders and murderers won’t be in the same prison as Steve who didn’t pay his TV license
