Ghosted after job interview?

Job interview was a week today and they’d said I’d hear back either way at the end of last week/early this week. Starting to think I haven’t got the job and I’m being ghosted. Feeling quite down as I really needed this job.

Ring and ask. I had the same - left it a whole week then rang them. There had been a mix up and they thought they'd already rung me and offered me the job! Nothing to lose.

You may as well contact them. Better than being kept hanging.

Is give it till Thursday - depending on your line of work you might be the reserve candidate l, and they’ve started negotiations with the preferred candidate. If it’s a straight yes or no you tend to hear quite quickly. Unless a key person has gone off sick of course

Haha, good grief! What did they think you had said when they thought they offered you? Did you accept?

I bet you are their second choice and they have offered the job to somebody else and want to wait until they accept until they tell you no.

Have you followed up?
Recruiters often give optimistic timelines that get missed because X is on AL or a candidate had to reschedule.

Send an email along the lines of "nice to meet you last week, thank you very much for your time. If you need anything more from please let me know".

@ILikeItWhatIsIt she said 'oops sorry, I thought xx had already rung you, yes we would love to offer you a job'. I Accepted, yes but the whole 'onboarding process' (their term not mine) has been long and drawn out!

Ring them and ask.
