Gossiping

Do you gossip? I just realised how often I hear gossip about a bunch of people I know distantly from one person. It made me really wary of that person because I don’t tend to say stuff about people (not that I don’t think stuff but it can definitely bite you in the ass once it leaves your gob).

YANBU - gossips will gossip about anyone including you
YABU- it’s harmless

I used to work with one. Was gossiping about a colleague, so a couple of us and the person being gossiped about, set them up with bullshit information and let them run with it.

Was fun to sit back and watch.

That person talks about you to others as you hear them talking about others to you (or in earshot of you).. some people just don't have enough entertainment in their life... well done to get some distance.

Gossiping is very rarely harmless.
"Gossiping" is actually speaking about a person behind their back, usually because you can't say it to their face.
I'm sure most of us have indulged at some point or other but there is an actual person, with actual feelings behind the whispering. It's rarely harmless.

If people are gossiping about someone to you, then you can bet your bottom dollar they are also gossiping about you.

I've never trusted gossips and don't get involved.
