Cancelled subscription

We have a regular subscription paid monthly which I don't check any more but rely on it coming out of my account.

Had an email last week telling me that the last two months payments failed so I need to pay both in full and the subscription was cancelled. I have called my bank but they haven't cancelled it and the account is always in credit do they said the error must be with the other persons bank or the company cancelled it.

I've explained this via email but they've said "whatever the banks have decided between them" it's now been cancelled so I just have to pay. Its such a strange turn of phrase! I think it should be looked into. I feel like I'm being passed off.

If its a subscription you should be able to see the transaction for the payment going out, and then another transaction for it being returned if the recipient bank rejected it.

Could it be that the payment was for setup up for one year and has now expired? (The transactions above will show if it is still active)

No, it's ongoing.Its still a mystery! Nothing shows on my statement.
