Invictus games - if an international games is organised for teams of wounded veterans from different countries

Then surely soldiers will be coming up against the enemy that maimed them? How does that work?

Participation is not compulsory. In any case I don't belive Isis or the Taliban usually field teams.

what about if Afghanistan and Pakistan both want to field teams? Or Sudan and South Sudan? Or syria and Turkey? Or Serbia and Croatia? Is the first country form a conflict to apply the only one accepted?

Maybe for some it would be too difficult but it isn’t compulsory. Others may just see another veteran including the ones from countries where they were fighting as professionals/conscripts controlled by governments and senior military.
