Little acts of rebellion

Sitting in a lovely but overpriced coffee shop today with a friend, and after discussing how overpriced it is, she confessed that when she goes to an overpriced coffee shop, and she thinks it isn't fair, she takes a toilet roll as a little payback. It just really made me laugh. Do any of you have any little acts of rebellion like this? I don't think I have any but I must do.

I'd better not reveal I sometimes take extra sugars and mini jams from the hotel buffet. I'll be hung drawn and quartered

I don't think she does do it on multiple occasions, she wouldn't go back if it was overpriced

You she confessed that when she goes to an overpriced coffee shop, and she thinks it isn't fair, she takes a toilet roll as a little payback.

which suggests she has done it more than once. I didnt say she goes back to the same place. But it seems checking somewhere is in her budget before she orders is beyond capabilities.

Either way, it’s not a small act of rebellion. It’s being a twat.

I've called 101 and logged this, so they have a record.

You don't know her capabilities. She's not a twat. She might not be making the best choice here but definitely not a twat

Maybe they have to put the price of the coffee up to pay for all the loo roll that goes missing ...

icantwearjeans · 11/05/2024 19:06

Back in the olden days when we did cash collections at work for birthdays etc, I always used to put 2p in the envelope of any of the bitchy clique's collections. In a sea of pound coins, I hoped - stupidly - that it'd speak volumes

You've come to the wrong place with this anecdote OP. 😉

So it seems, it's the sanctimonious lot without a sense of humour this evening.

I came onto the thread hoping for something a bit more light hearted.

If I see that someone has used "impact" as a verb in something I am reviewing, I always change it to "affect". And I change "reach out" to "get in touch".

If I walk past a car that is parked on the pavement, I always push the wing mirror if it's not already in, in the hope that the alarm will go off. But I don't think cars have alarms anymore. When I am Queen, cars that park on pavements will be crushed.

crochetmonkey74 · 11/05/2024 19:08

I always push nails into the tyres of cars parked on pavements

Oh yes, if you say on here that you take something to have later on, your thread is swiftly full of horrified comments.

It's fine to eat everything you can in the space of half an hour, but if you eat a bit/lot less then and want to take a pastry or something out with you, that's stealing.

Apparently.

StandingOvulation · 11/05/2024 19:15

I love by a lovely massive Urban park and walk there every day.

Loads of cars parked near the parked have obscured regustration plates because they're twats. It's some sort it geo-contagion Hmm.

I always throw a few crumbs of dog treats on the roof of such cars.

I hope encouraging guano.

Hmm. Is this rebellious or just petty? Confused

Too many RING doorbells around to do that. You might get caught, be careful.

Bit clearly she goes to them often enough to come up with a way to steal from them? The person you quoted didn't mean going to the same shop, but different overpriced coffee shops.
Also did she not know she can see the prices before ordering? Some people are truly idiots.

parkrun500club · 11/05/2024 19:17

For loud parties, I did once see a fabulous idea on here - get the local 6 year olds playing their recorders outside the party-giver's house at 6am :)

Nope she is not an idiot, far from it

What an odd thing to do. She's probably looking at life if she gets caught and quite rightly so imo.

Not one I did, but was (quite rightly) done to me. When I was early 20s nights out often ended in our flat with DJs playing & probably very noisy. Never had any complaints BUT
The flat downstairs had primary age kids & they used to do piano practice really early on Saturday & Sunday mornings. I never once put two and two together.

crochetmonkey74 · 11/05/2024 19:29

I'm trying to think if I have any stubborn or rebellious things. I never get a carrier bag as I begrudge it, but I end up with grocery jenga back to the car. That's as wild as I am 😁

Another thing that didn't happen.
Nobody has to go to a coffee shop?

Daisy12Maisie · 11/05/2024 19:37

My lodger uses all of my bathroom products. Eg shampoo, shower gel etc. She isn't meant to. I can't hide my things in my room as I can't be bothered to take them in and out of the bathroom every time I need them and my children need to use them as well so they need to stay in the bathroom. so I now only buy Aldi men's products. So Aldi's brand men's shower gel. My lodger is a woman. I am also a woman but my children are boys. It's petty I know but it annoys me that she uses my things as I'm obviously skint or I wouldn't need a lodger in the first place!
