I dragged myself out of bed at 10, hung the washing out and then cleaned the bathroom for an hour. It's still not perfect and I cannot motivate myself to mop the floor. I've got loads of other cleaning and house stuff to do and I just cannot be bothered. What's everyone doing today to get out and about in the beautiful weather?

Done the laundry and then sat in the summerhouse with a glass of lemonade, the radio on, watching the birds.

I'm the neighbour everyone hates as I jet washed the concrete slabs in my from garden for the very first time!

It looks amazing!

Replanted an olive tree that was outgrowing the pot & potted up a new hydrangea

My frontage is vastly improved!

Picnic by a river, absolutely loving this sunshine and heat! Not looking forward to next week as it looks like a lot of rain and back down to 15 degrees 🥶

Got woken up by Royal Mail delivering my new BBQ that was actually due Monday. This nice surprise changed the course of my day, so I got up, drove to the supermarket and bought stuff for a BBQ, then spent the day in the garden reading, cooking, eating and drinking. It's been so lovely, and is far from over yet. It's just become a little chilly for me to stay outside so I've come in, and plan to binge watch something with a brew and some snacks. I'd go as far as to say it's been a perfect day!

Lovely thanks. Did parkrun, went to a farmers' market and sat around with some friends for a bit, managed to do a rare stint of gardening. I was so sick of the cold and rainy weather.

cakecoffeecakecoffee · 11/05/2024 19:19

Laundry out then up to Dartmoor for the day, swimming in the river and enjoying an ice cream.

Supernova23 · 11/05/2024 19:34

Working nights over the last four days. Missed all of the nice as have been in bed sleeping during the day. The joys of shift work.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/05/2024 19:35

We had our walk round the headland both to and from the pub (pie night!) - it had cooled down but still lovely sunshine. Saw some more eider ducks on our way back, I think they're my favourite wildfowl, lovely plump shape, beautiful plumage and that comical mating call. Smile
We've walked about 23 km today ...good thing we remembered to apply sun lotion before we set out!

doitwithlove · 11/05/2024 19:36

Worked today, no sunshine for me 😁

Home now, had picky bits for dinner with a glass of wine. Going to tidy the kitchen, watch some tv then bed. Ready for another day at work 👍🏻

buffyslayer · 11/05/2024 19:37

Put some laundry outside
Went for blood tests (melting in there!)
Sat in the garden for a couple of hours
Had a nap Grin
Packed my bag for a river swim tomorrow
Oh and my new trainers arrived for netball

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 11/05/2024 19:37

Was up at 5:50, did a cross trainer workout, cycled to a farm cafe for cake and a drink, had a small BBQ lunch, chilled in the sun which was so relaxing then met friends at the pub for a couple of drinks. Been a fantastic day 😎

Faceplantagain · 11/05/2024 19:45

Went to a plant fair, where I met my sister and a friend. We all bought plants! Spent the afternoon planting them, but also digging out invasive plants, while chatting to neighbours. The usual boring stuff - trip to the supermarket, a load of washing - but now sitting in my (much nicer) garden with a glass of wine as the sun goes down..

KreedKafer · 11/05/2024 19:50

DP’s hobby took him to the coast today so I went with him and got him to drop me at a seaside town nearby for a few hours. I greatly enjoyed myself, had some whelks and an ice cream and was generally cheered up by the fresh air and by how much all the families were doing the full seaside experience of buckets and spades, sandy toddlers, chips, ice cream, arcades, rides and endless sugar-laden treats. Everyone looked like they were having an unashamedly lovely time.

Snackpocket · 11/05/2024 19:58

Got up and did my exercise class. Then watched MotoGP and did weeding in the garden in between sessions. Followed by a bbq and Prosecco. Now drinking cider in my conservatory listening to tunes. A top Saturday!

Therealjudgejudy · 11/05/2024 20:09

Went to Wellfest in Dublin. Had a great day and did some awesome workouts. Lots of freebies too... 😁

Alicewinn · 11/05/2024 21:11

Oh my gosh, summer is here & it’s heavenly

DrCoconut · 11/05/2024 21:14

Enjoyed finally being able to go out without at least a hoodie over my t shirt. It's just nice and warm here, not hot. About 6 months of this would do me the world of good after so long without sun. Forecast to be back in the teens after the weekend though 😭

DiscoBeat · 11/05/2024 21:15

Coffee in the garden, listening to the wonderful birdsong, then gardening for a while. Pub drink this afternoon in local pub that had a plant sale. Then planting, steak dinner and watching Eurovision before going to try to spot the Northern lights and feed the hedgehogs. A lovely lazy day!

GreggsSteakBake · 11/05/2024 21:20

Slept off a night shift. It's 9.20pm now and I'm on my way back into work. Last one though!

sallynewt · 11/05/2024 21:39

We had a lovely day exploring NT gardens with my 2yo and 5yo. Walked around the river spotting ducks, fed some goats and sheep, climbed trees, played in a couple of playgrounds, paddled in the river, had a picnic and ice cream. Never been to this site before and I like ticking off places on my list of things to see, I've been meaning to visit here for 3 years. DCs loved it.

This sounds so idyllic and the sort of thing we would do regularly with our now teen DC.

I feel quite teary knowing that those days are long gone!

ssd · 12/05/2024 09:35

I sort of miss these days too but i have memories of overtired kids squabbling and refusing to come on 'nice' walks etc etc so im preferring these days when i can suit myself Blush
