Is this tonsillitis again?

I’ve had a sore throat the last couple of days and have woken up with white spots on my tonsils this morning. There have been throat infections around the office so I probably caught it from there. I only had tonsilitis 6-7 weeks ago which I had antibiotics for, is this tonsilitis again? Feeling sorry for myself!

You probably need different ABs, and maybe a longer course - assuming you do always take the full course.

You may be carrying the bug which flares up now and then. I used to get tonsillitis every year, until a really bad dose (with white spots) when I was really ill with it. First lot of ABs didn’t shift it, so GP gave me different ones - for 10 days.
Those worked, and although this was a couple of decades ago, I’ve never once had it since.
I can only think I was carrying the bug, and the last ABs finally killed it.

I had two doses of antibiotics end of March time though and I though the second lot got rid of it quite quickly so I don’t know why it’s come back again!
