Help me choose a sofa

Stuck between these two sofas. Really love the cream one but worried about practicalities?
Also because of the size can only get the sofa and would then need 2 accent chairs.

Like the grey one, can get a 3 and 2 seater. But is it a bit dull?

My heart is saying cream, I love the scandi style and would have white, black & cream accessories. But would it be practical?
No pets but 2 young adults (who love to fake tan.)

You Are Not Unreasonable - cream
You Are Unreasonable - Grey

Thank you

The grey one is a bit lighter in real life

Can you Scotchguard, or whatever the current thing is, the cream one?

Vettrianofan · 08/05/2024 17:00

Grey

Sillystrumpet · 08/05/2024 17:02

Don’t get grey it’s so so done, and difficult to do anything round brighten the room. Are the covers washable on the cream one?

if not, why not look for one washable or another colour, possibly olive green or teal?

blackcherryconserve · 08/05/2024 17:04

I'd also go for a colour like teal. Grey is soooo dull. Or you can always cover the cream with colourful throws.

Row23 · 08/05/2024 17:05

The cream looks nicer but I’m sure you could get lovely throws and patterned cushions to help make the grey look really good if you chose that one.
I’d say go grey because you can get two sofas, rather than having one sofa and accent chairs, which possibly wouldn’t be used as often. I’d personally just prefer a sofa, but that’s personal preference!

Get an IKEA sofa.

Best I've ever had and you can chuck most of the covers in the washing machine.

Won't buy anywhere else now

Thing is there has to be hundreds of other colour choices past grey..

The IKEA Kivik is identical to the grey sofa, if you have a look at Benz they do custom covers in whatever colour you like and you can chuck them in the washing machine.

Flavabobble · 08/05/2024 17:23

Have you sat on any of these sofas? Cos how comfortable it is, is the most important thing about a sofa.

MakemyMindUp · 08/05/2024 17:39

Yes they are both really comfortable, will have a look at IKEA. Thank you

Yes, I meant more the actual sofa size rather than colour. If the grey sofa is a better size so you can get two sofas then go with that style. Rather than the white sofa where only 1 sofa will fit and then two small chairs that probably won’t get used.
I’m sure there’s lots of lovely coloured fabrics to choose from. But if not and grey is the only option then it can be made to look more interesting with patterned throws and coloured cushions.
