Co-working spaces providing a second screen?

I work from home and the nature of my work means I need a second screen. My set up at home is fine, but I'd like to work in a co-working space one afternoon a week as that day my husband and child are at home and it can get a bit distracting.
But I can't find one that provides docking stations / second screens.
I'd just go to the library if I was just needed a space to put my laptop down for a few hours (where there are desks for people to work from).
It surprises me as I thought it was quite common for people to work off bigger screens than their laptop if they could?
AIBU? Or just not looking hard enough? Can anyone think of other solutions?

My co working office has lockers - most of us have a locker where we keep a screen, mouse & keyboard.

I didn't look around that much before choosing my office, but I don't recall seeing any with screens.

mine Provides one screen, so with my laptop that’s two screens.

The co-working space I use has loads of additional IT equipment you can set up however you like, they don't have it out on the desks as standard so if you were looking at pictures on the website for example you might not be aware that they did. I looked round quite a few spaces in my city and did trial days before picking the one that suits me best - are there many options where you are that you can go and try out?

If you WFH and have no office to go to, I assume your option is to find a space within your own home! Maybe I'm misunderstanding your issue, but I don't know of anywhere that would provide a 2nd screen and office space- unless you were paying for it. Or is that what you are wanting? A paid for space with a screen supplied???

Oh okay! That would work I guess. I'll have to have a look around a few.

Yes exactly...eg Regus where you can hire a desk for a day.

I have a second portable screen that wasn't particularly expensive.

WooshWithAWotsit · 07/05/2024 22:54

Yes, portable second screens are not that expensive. I bought one from Amazon.

malmi · 07/05/2024 23:01

I took my old laptop along with my current one, and used it as an additional screen, pretty simple and no cost!

KeeeeeepDancing · 07/05/2024 23:04

I've seen people in wework using a large iPad as a second screen, set up on a stand above the laptop screen.

GerbilsForever24 · 07/05/2024 23:24

I think few provide additional screens as the desks are all hot desking etc anyway. You might be able to hire an additional screen at an additional cost per day (linked to needing to selet a specific desk rather than hot-desking)

Id look at other options. Theoretically, my ipad works as a second screen. MIne isn't great, I think because it's a 1st generation ipad Pro, but if I needed a second screen regualrly I'd look at what ipad/tablet options I could use.

Thanks! I don't really want to buy a new screen because there are only 9 weeks I'd use this before the summer hols, when I'm not working, and then son starts school and it becomes a non-issue.
I'll look into whether coworking spaces have a screen you can hire.
Maybe I just need to suck it up and put up with the noise for 9 weeks!
