Hello everyone,
I went to the doctors last week with a cough that was bring up green phlegm (sorry tmi) and it was painful when coughing and breathing also felt out of breath. The dr said that all my obs were ok and that it was bronchitis and gave me a 5 day course of doxycycline.
I finished those on Saturday and has felt so much worse over the weekend, unable to get out of bed, coughing so much, feel like I've pulled every muscle in my body, achy, headache and really tired. I felt slightly better this morning but as the day has gone on I'm starting to feel awful again. Could this be Pneumonia instead of bronchitis? What are your experiences of it?

Thank you in advance ☺️

When I had pneumonia I literally wanted to die. I couldn't breathe properly, was coughing up chunks of bloody phlegm, was sweating, aching, couldn't eat, go to the toilet, couldn't go on my phone. Its the worst I've ever felt.

I would get some medical advice, whatever might be available to you - call 111, see if there's an Urgent Care open in your area, etc.

I have pneumonia for the 2 nd time this year now, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, can barley breathe

I was hospitalised with pneumonia for 10 days about 17 years ago. It started with a pain in one shoulder, almost like muscular pain. Over the following days I became increasingly breathless - I remember walking to the printer at work and could barely make it without sitting down.

I put all this down to just a bad chest infection and so didn’t get medical advice. Over the following days the pain in my shoulder, back and chest meant I couldn’t sleep lying down, and at this point I went to the hospital.

Within 24 hours I was feeling much better but I was drugged up to the eyeballs!
