Had a hair appointment today with a hairdresser I’ve been going to for several years. I have always got a full head of bleach highlights and decided I want to start going back to my natural hair colour which is a mousy dark blonde. I asked today for my natural colour to be added back into my hair at the root and then some lighter blonde balayage around the face and ends to keep it bright. I showed my hairdresser some photos for reference.
My hair is now a dark, warm toned brown. There is no blonde in it at all but a very ashy grey money piece. At the time when she showed me I said it was a lot darker than I expected and she said it might take me a couple of days to get used to it. My husband was gobsmacked when he saw me, the more I look at it I really don’t like it. It’s just not the right colour at all - it’s not anywhere near a dark blonde.
I know most people would advise to go back to the same hairdresser and ask for it to be fixed but I don’t know how she is now going to lighten a warm chestnut brown, to a neutral mousy blonde with lighter balayage. I’m really upset and feel like I just look washed out and don’t suit it at all.
The last couple of times I have been for my highlights and root tap, it hasn’t been quite what I asked for either (I always show reference photos). Would you go back to the same hairdresser or go elsewhere?
