Posting for fun and a little bit of curiosity 🤣

Following on from a discussion with my OH - do you think my baby looks like a boy or girl?

I would have no idea the sex of a baby just by looking at facial features whereas my OH thinks it's obvious.

AIBU - yes it's easy to tell boys and girls apart
AINBU - babies just look like babies

Why????

what's anyone going to do with a random baby face.

honestly.

The child’s face is online. Why do you think people don’t post their kids online?

Emmadaily · 03/05/2024 19:05

I can't make my mind up here
Certainly a super cute happy baby though.

Josette77 · 03/05/2024 19:06

I think boy too.

Tospyornottospy · 03/05/2024 19:07

boy

QueenOfTheEntireFuckingUniverse · 03/05/2024 19:08

My instinct says boy. But I wouldn't be at all surprised if baby was a girl.

InactionIsAWeaponOfMassDestruction · 03/05/2024 19:12

Very cute baby regardless. Honestly i'm flip flopping between boy or girl!

Genuine question - why the angst about taking this pic down?

Why would you post your baby’s picture on a forum of thousands of others? It’s mind boggling to me how nobody but one other person here sees the issue

DinaofCloud9 · 03/05/2024 19:13

Boy.

Purplecatshopaholic · 03/05/2024 19:18

Yup, they look like a baby. A very cute and happy baby. No idea which sex, lol.

Greendino90 · 03/05/2024 19:19

Have you had the turn in baby’s eye assessed?

mightydolphin · 03/05/2024 19:21

Girl

BigBoysDontCry · 03/05/2024 19:23

I'd say girl but I wouldn't say it's obvious.

ThursdayTomorrow · 03/05/2024 19:23

Well, what do you see as the issue?

Obviously there are risks associated with posting photos (of yourself or your children) are online but I’m struggling to see which would apply to a photo of a young baby posted anonymously.

cherrysprinkles · 03/05/2024 19:27

Cute baby. I'd say boy

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 03/05/2024 19:28

But what exactly is the issue?

Posting the baby’s face on an anonymous forum, with no profile or personal details attached to it, doesn’t put it at any further risk of abduction or abuse. Thousands of strangers already see a baby’s face every time you take it out in its buggy.

If you’re thinking the photo might end up on the dark web, do you seriously imagine that if a paedophile wants a picture of a baby’s face, they would trawl through a billion Mumsnet posts on the off-chance of finding one, rather than just typing ‘baby’ into Google Images and taking their pick from the umpty-trillion photos available?

Giraffe888 · 03/05/2024 19:39

First thought was boy!

Fucking hell, there are some appalling people on Mumsnet. I’m pretty sure the OP’s baby has been looked at by medical and nursing professionals in its lifetime, and that any issue would have been raised, if there is one.

Honestly, of all the comments to make.

This place is 🦇 💩

Cute baby OP, I’d say boy…or maybe girl.

Vergingontheridiculous · 03/05/2024 19:56

Do you think maybe people guessing random babies without any other gender stereotype markers are more likely to guess boy because of the lack of hair? If you're desperately searching for a gender signifier (albeit subconsciously) that may sway it. Mine looked very like themselves as babies, but sometimes remarkably alike (I have one of each).
