Police and Crime Commissioners are important. They help steer Police policy. If you have concerns, especially on issues around hate crime and Stonewall influence it is work thinking about who you want to vote for.
Quite a lot of information is in this thread, but there will be more on the Internet, though a surprising number of candidates are failing to answer questions.

Issues around women's right to single sex spaces seems to have been one area where, in general, Conservatives have been better than others. (There are notable exceptions, both ways.) By the end of the year we are likely to have both a majority of Labour/LibDem councils, and a Labour Government. If your Tory PCC candidate is sound on things you care about, and the alternatives are not, it is worth considering the advantage in having some balance within policy guiding the police.
