Easiest thing in the world to make, it's my go to comfort food. I usually just use a masher unless it's for guests, then I use a ricer, add butter, cream and white pepper. 😍Ready made mash is awful to me, then again I'm a trained chef 😅

Ooh white pepper. Think I’ll buy cauliflower and do cauliflower cheese with mash and white pepper. Fuck the diet! 🤣🫣

Mash is cheap and easy.
Anything in one pan without oil is so much easier when you haven’t got a dishwasher.
I prefer cheesy mash though.

Maninthemoonsmiles · 29/04/2024 18:29

When we were children my mum made mash with an egg and some grated cheese as our evening meal - no meat/fish just Surprise peas(money v tight) and it is still my favourite meal😁

MuggleMe · 29/04/2024 18:31

I eat way too much potato if I mash. I prefer chips in the air fryer, minimal oil and no milk/butter. And I only like mash with skins off.

TheShellBeach · 29/04/2024 18:33

I gave up trying to make chips in the air fryer and I sent it back to Amazon.

Is there such a thing as an electric potato masher?

I use an electric hand held cake whisk to mash mine.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/04/2024 19:55

I think any potato is too much effort unless it's a homemade roastie, mash on a shepherds or fish pie, or dauphinois out.Grin

pelotonaddiction · 29/04/2024 20:12

I make it if I'm doing say a cottage pie or something where the mash is part of it
But for a quick daily meal I just use frozen. There's no weird ingredients in it
