En wat vinden jullie van het Nederlands, dan?

En ik weet zeker dat het la gob is, trouwens

jessia · 02/04/2008 11:49

Who me? No, not unless it's in Welsh - my Welsh only runs to "sospan fach" (had an ex in Llanelli ). Otherwise I can usually tell if they're talking about me (though squonk's Russsian didn't look much like what I were learned ).

jessia · 02/04/2008 11:50

Hmm... Or cornish!

InLoveWithSweenyTodd · 02/04/2008 11:51

Jessia, there are 300,000 polish people in Dublin and I'm a bit like the OP really, I bought myself a Polish/English phrase book the other day. Can't bear to think I might be missing something!

Deciphering the various languages on here, including cod-English, is a vital component of my intellectual regime.

flicky · 02/04/2008 15:51

SweenyTodd

That was the first chiste I learned in Spain.I pulled many a time with that beauty ;)

The second was as follows.

Man and woman talking by the pool.

'Usted no nada nada?'
'No traje traje'

They were the good days,alright!!

flicky · 02/04/2008 15:54

MadameCholet try this one

I have replicated the sounds as best as I can,but if you do need to write it down, just throw in lots of zs etc ;)

'Putz-eye-um me-yeh-nev doopa'

(Pogue mo thoin in the real stuff )

Goes down a storm in my esl class, anyway.

InLoveWithSweenyTodd · 02/04/2008 15:58

damn I was going to catch you out with the "no traje traje chiste" myself, flicky

MadameCh0let · 02/04/2008 17:56

Ha ha Flicky! very good. you are practically as good as I am and I learnt it for 14 yrs.

Here's another good one for ya

I remember once that the teacher said, off the record, no need to make a note of this, but 'Is Badiacht é' means he rows his own boat and means he is a wanker. So obviously I remember that too.

MadameCh0let · 02/04/2008 18:01

hang on. was that Polish for kiss my ass?

very good. I'm learning it now. Putzeyeum meyehnevdoopa.

LynetteScavo · 02/04/2008 20:07

eemie, Have I any eggs? Yes, about 12 in the fridge.

Ok, so I'm being unreasonable to expect all posts to be in English, but I don't think I'm unreasonable to want to be able to understand all posts.

And that includes Cod's.
