Help, been sick

Hi

Sorry, trigger warning about sick

just really not sure what to do- I never have problems with vomiting so this is a bit new to me and I’m feeling absolutely rotten so can’t really think straight tbh.

I was fine today but started to feel queasy around 8 ish. It felt sort of like travel sick. I lay down but couldn’t get relief, then all of a sudden I had a wave of the most horrific nausea and had to absolutely leg it to the toilet. I projectile vomited 5 times and barely made it to the toilet. I’ve never been sick with such strong force before, it sounds silly but it was awful and there was so much of it. It was pink and I’m not sure if it was blood or if that would be red or black? I haven’t eaten anything pink today so can’t think what would have caused it although I had spaghetti bolognaise yesterday although I’m assuming that would be out my system by now? I feel absolutely rubbish and just slightly worrying that I’ve thrown up blood now. Any help greatly appreciated x

If you think it's blood ring nhs.

Have you had beetroot?

If it was only a small amount of streaks it could just be from the force of the vomiting but if the whole lot was pink and you can't think of a reason then call for advice.

Blood would be bright red or black as you say. Pink tinged could well be remnants of food, when mixed together, can be pink. If you don't have any other symptoms like abdominal pain other than normal upset stomach, I'd be inclined to wait it out. Obviously if you get more unwell or vomit actual blood then you'd need to get.medical attention.

No, no beetroot. I honestly can’t think of anything that would have been pink. For lunch I had turkey and some fruit (yellow/green in colour) then for dinner I had roast chicken and potatoes and corn and carrots. Maybe the carrots although not sure that would change the colour of the entire if that makes sense- it wasn’t like lumps of red blood it was just that the entire sick was pinkish/redish in colour but no streaks etc. sorry that’s TMI just trying so hard to explain it but I’m a total worrier so not sure if I’m worrying about nothing or not x

Ah whew that’s great thank you! I think I’ve eaten something which hasn’t agreed with me so just need to ride this out now x

The carrots would give it pink tinge. Drink some lukewarm water and hopefully you'll feel fine tomorrow

Have you drunk red wine?
