I've had it...the cat looks at me and poos whilst I'm opening the door to get out... It's hell. I have a dd and ok it's a small garden but we like to use it. Neighbour who owns the cat is vvv strange.. what's app me to say a leaf from our cherry tree has landed in her garden and her cat might eat it...we've tried electric noisy things, a plastic snake, old cd that shines and some black cat shadow things... nothing...it seems to wait till I'm.in the kitchen and poo in front of me.... suspect neighbour taught it.. what would work that not hurt it. It's very beautiful, just the poo. Isn't. We going to sell and move shortly due to this cat, it honestly is making life hell. My next door neighbour who's elderly have similar issues with the cat...who much poo can this cat do

Tell her your garden is full of cherry leaves so not to let her cat out.

marylou25 · 23/04/2024 19:58

If you have a garden hose get a motion control water sprayer, works on batteries and hose pipe and cat will soon learn not to come near.

ZekeZeke · 23/04/2024 19:59

This may sound nuts but it 100% works.
Fill a 7 up plastic 2 litre bottle with water.
Remove the paper label.
Lie the bottle flat.

It frightens cats.

Jeyes fluid really works. I had a neighbours cat that kept shitting on my door step and saw the tip on here. Stopped the fucker ever doing it again

sprinkle jays fluid powder around the areas that the cat poos - they don't like the smell and its harmless to animals

Jeyes is toxic to cats - please don't follow this advice!

It may have died..

I'm having visions of the neighbour holding cat school classes where she teaches the cat to poo and stare.

Smartiepants79 · 23/04/2024 20:19

I think you have an unusual idea of what constitutes hell……
Spray it with water.
If you’re watching it do it why are you letting it.
Go out and do very loud clapping and hissing noises whilst running towards it.
I can’t believe your considering moving house simply because of one slightly annoying cat.

It's not harmless for cats.

mountaingoatsarehairy · 23/04/2024 20:24

if you have flag stones then a dilute bleach spray will deter it.
plus cayenne pepper
and a supershooter !

you can def tackle this !

Papyrophile · 23/04/2024 20:26

Get a water pistol, a big super soaker.

IsadoraQuill · 23/04/2024 20:29

If you have an outside tap, get a motion sensor sprinkler.

Like this one:

Just needs connecting to a hose. Means you don't have to be on guard with a water pistol.

Please do NOT do this- it is harmful to animals, whether undiluted or diluted.

If its pooing in same spot, trying putting down a few big sheets of tin foil weighed down with stones.

Fleurdalys · 23/04/2024 20:34

I've never ever seen a cat in my garden since I got frenchies 10 years ago
Thank god

LuluBlakey1 · 23/04/2024 20:35

A water pistol with clean water squirted in the cat's vicinity but not in its face will soon deter it.

Floralnomad · 23/04/2024 20:35

Cat proof your garden and if one still gets in soak it with water

HermioneWeasley · 23/04/2024 20:37

Definitely throw the poo into the neighbour’s garden

Oh my god!!! No, do not do this OP as Jeyes products are toxic to animals and can seriously harm them! 😤

Haydenn · 23/04/2024 20:39

Are you sure it’s the cat shitting and not your neighbour herself

Mimrr · 23/04/2024 20:39

Get a cat to chase away the cat. Cats are great.

mauvish · 23/04/2024 20:39

Having spent many years getting my garden looking lovely and encouraging the local bird population, I'm pretty fed up with the 2 cats that have moved in next door with the new neighbour. Catshit in the vegetable bed, and feathers on the lawn ---

I can't spray said cats as obviously I don't see them every time they meander through the garden, and even when I do see them, I wouldn't be able to hit them with a spray from inside the house.

But I got some cat deterrent stuff from the garden centre, which turns out to be based on garlic granules and it really works! No more cat shit! You really don't need very much at a time so it's economical too.

Have reported this post as its bollocks, and extremely dangerous misinformation!

Sandwichgen · 23/04/2024 20:42

If it’s a Bengal (stripy and tiger-like), it will love the water / hose/ super soaker wtc

Sweetpeadreams · 23/04/2024 20:43

I can't remember which plants but apparently you can get plants that cats hate the smell of and avoid. If your garden is small I'd plant something they don't like qnd see if that helps.
