‘I’m keen’

Is this expression annoying anyone else? I feel like it’s really over used at the moment. Is it supposed to be the in/cool thing to say?
An example is when asking people socially to things they’ll say ‘I’m keen’ or ‘I’m keen to do such and such’ but it’s being really over used!

Is it just me?

Just you. I think it's just a normal expression.

Bearsinthetrap · 21/04/2024 22:20

been saying/heard this since school 20 years ago

PoochiesPinkEars · 21/04/2024 22:20

Not really heard it used particularly, maybe it's the in phrase in your circle.
I am though quite sick of '100%' as the answer to everything you want to give an affirmative for.

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 21/04/2024 22:20

Would you prefer "If I must"?!

sicilianpizza · 21/04/2024 22:27

Completely normal, even slightly old fashioned. I like it. Much better than I'm up for it, which I hate!

Edenmum2 · 21/04/2024 22:48

I don't think it's cool, just normal English language
