Only been in my sisters life for 2 years but they are engaged and he pays the mortgage on a flat for them both which I think is why my mum adores him. She will never hear a bad word said against him in particular but will openly run me down to anyone.
Feels they are deserving of all the fun and exciting things in life but thinks I should just work and makes digs about me not earning much. My sister earns even less but nothing gets said about that.
Buys extra gifts for both of them at Christmas. Individual but also joint. So almost like a reward for being in a couple.
Writes him soppy birthday cards .
Goes above and beyond to help them out. Buying them food and would run to the end of the earth if they asked.
Almost goes all soppy when talking about him as in a hero worshipping kind of way.
Expects me to fawn over them both and when I don't, I get criticised and called bitter.
Aibu to think that if you have favourites, you should at least try and be more subtle over it ?
