I know that when you watch a thread, Mumsnet does tell you when the OP updates their thread. However, you get notified every time anyone and his dog posts on it as well. Because of this, you often end up with millions of emails on threads you are watching.
It would be nice to have the option of just being notified when OP updates. I find it a bit annoying when my email inbox fills up everytime someone posts on a thread I'm watching.
Does anyone agree with this?

I would love this. I hardly watch any threads at all (just a handful of old ones that only get any contribution about 4 times a year as they are so niche) because the watch function is so unfit for purpose.

You don't have to get the emails though. I don't get any emails. I just get the little notifications in the top corner of the MN site, then I check if it's the OP or not.

Unsubscribe to the emails and just click the watching or I’m on tab?

Yes, I would love this. I often get accused of not reading the full thread. Often its pages long and the app doesn't give the same options to follow

I only get emails when someone quotes me or does an @ message to me in the thread, otherwise I have the notifications switched off.

I would like this option on the Watched and Notifications tabs too. (I gave up on the emails as, as you say, there were just too many of them.)

There is already this option this is how I have mine. Turn email notifications off, and turn on notify when OP updates a thread in my watch list only.
