Wife hides dishes

I've packed away nearly all of our plates/mugs/bowls and cutlery and left 1 thing of each for me and DH. We're only two people (and a baby) but somehow dirty dishes always pile up. AIBU?

Having a newborn is really tough, OP. I took away the toilet seat in a fit of rage. I couldn't even tell you why it made sense now.

If it doesn’t take that long, one should just wash the items and/or put them in the dishwasher (if they have one) then there wouldn’t be dishes stacking up.

I had to do that when we had a very volatile lodger who couldn’t wash up properly.

We did this when our kitchen was being replaced and we were washing up in the bathroom!

If you really hate seeing a stack of dishes in the sink, then this is an effective measure to avoid that.

If the issue is really that your DH isn’t pulling his weight on the washing up front then it probably won’t be as effective, though that depends on whether he does a lot of using crockery for the odd snack where he will now need to wash something up to use it instead of just grabbing a clean one.

It sounds a bit extreme, though and like you probably ought to be looking at other solutions.
