We are staying at a lodge and we keep seeing these bugs, mainly around windows

Initially I thought bed bugs however the mattresses are squeaky clean (we’ve checked day and night and we don’t have any bite marks or anything) , we’ve only found half a dozen or so and they are mainly around the windows however we’ve also found some on furniture (not beds)

Carpet beetle?

Womanofcustard · 14/04/2024 18:38

I second carpet beetle. Don’t take any home with you!

Whatkatyforgottodo · 14/04/2024 18:39

Carpet beetles. Harmless to humans but will munch through natural fabrics so don’t take them home!

QuestionableMouse · 14/04/2024 18:40

Carpet beetles! Horrible little things, make me super itchy!

I'd pick up a can of flea spray and spray the rooms - they will hitch hike home with you!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 14/04/2024 18:41

Yup, they're Carpet beetle. Keep your cases off floor level, then in bin bags to bring them home, hot wash everything and steam clean the cases.

They're annoying, but harmless (unless you're a pure new wool Axminster).

Thank you and nightmare, il email the lodge owners and also take my laundry to the laundrette, ds1 has already went home tho and they are worse in his room.

what would you recommend to get rid of them? We have just fully
carpeted the house so I’d rather be proactive is eradicating them before an infestation can overtake.
