Jigger digging

My newish partner is lovely. Last night I saw him looking at Jigger Digging videos on fb. I feel appalled and confused. He says he really enjoys watching, finding it satisfying and relaxing.
opinions please?

What on earth is jigger digging?

Jiggers are sand fleas that burrow into the flesh and lay eggs mainly on the soles of feet. Jigger digging is where a medical professional slices the top layer of skin from the foot and removes the eggs. It’s a problem for people living in hot, poorer countries such as Kenya.

A jigger is a small parasitic flea that burrows into the skin of a warm-blooded host before laying eggs. They generally attack feet or hands.

I think it's watching them being removed (rather than them burrowing in).

I think appalled is a bit strong. I've no intention of looking it up, but I imagine it's similar to watching pimple popping videos, or people getting the hard skin cut off their feet. A bit disgusting but not exactly hardcore porn.

I thought it was some disgusting porn thing and was about to say LTB, when people explained I was relieved. It's no big deal, but if it grosses you out ask him not to watch while you're in the room. I love gross stuff, earwax extraction, umboliths, pimple popping, etc. My DH thinks that is weird and gross so I don't watch when he can see or hear.

I like to watch verruca removal videos. DH is aware and not bothered.

My DH isn't bothered that I like to watch them, but he does ask that I don't inflict them on him, which is more than fair.
