Do it back to her. If you’re slimmer/prettier she is probably reliving her youth!

Do it right back to her, and if she questions it just say you thought it was her preferred form of greeting (tinkly laugh optional)

Is it in an admiring way or jealous of how nice you look?
She probably does it to everyone (or to all women) without realising. She won't stop even if you ask her to.

Is she critical of appearances? Every time we visit my MIL she will comment on someone's weight gain/loss (often perceived) within 10 mins. I call it Grandma Bingo.

Yes she's very into 'looks'. In her mid-late 70s and has Botox, fillers etc. The type to comment on someone's appearance and job rather than how nice they are.

She said she didn't like the colour of her daughter's hair at her wedding (she changed it!) and told everyone her opinion on that but said she wouldn't say it to her directly.

I'm a very a busy working mum who walks the dog, who sometimes (mostly!) dress very casual - possibly too often/scruffy for her preference. I'm tall and slim too.

She complimented me on my top the other day. God knows why she does it but I really hate it and it makes me feel very uncomfortable - like I'm being judged!

Do a twirl so she can see all sides everytime she does it, with and optional tada and showhands at the end 😂
