To find it hard to show my real personality?

In work situations with people above me. I find it hard to let my guard down and just get stuck in with conversation, and I feel like I put on a facade that is a lot more serious/professional, but all the time, even in the staffroom

Am I the only one like this?

No, I'm the same. Only my family and 2 best friends would know the real me I would say. I'm always worried I come across wierd if I was my true self at work 😅

Not just you, I completely relate!

Oh good, so I'm not unusual. Some people just seem so much more at ease in these situations and it's really frustrating!

Same. It's not just at work but with most new people, in laws, even some friends. I feel I don't know how to lead a conversation as they either won't relate or be interested in what I have to say so I just don't try to much and come across as 'nice'. I can be quite irritable in comfortable company so maybe it's for the best ha

I think most people have different versions of themselves for different company/settings, really.
