Sitting baby on edge of bridge

It’s my first time posting here. I’m curious to know, would people be okay with their partner sitting a baby on the hand rail of a very high up bridge (whilst holding onto them)? I’ve attached a photo of the bridge - it is a massive drop from it so if DS slipped, it would definitely be the end of him (a thought that obviously frightens the life out me). My husband thinks I’m being unreasonable and overreacting to him doing this with our 9 month old as he says he’d never drop him. I don’t think I’m otherwise overprotective of DS, but felt this was an unnecessary risk!

YABU - it’s perfectly fine because he was holding on tightly.
YANBU - it’s a risk we shouldn’t take.

Thanks for your opinions :)

Not worth it. It’s usually fine. Occasionally it’s not. Babies/toddlers can make such sudden extreme movements at times. My 2yo randomly flung himself back whilst I was holding him earlier (luckily I had a good grip and wasn’t anywhere scary!). Whilst highly unlikely your DH could suddenly have a health issue, or a bee could fly into his face and scare him!

I think there are some over-reactions here. I don't see myself as reckless or an unnecessary risk-taker, but I wouldn't have had a problem with this especially after seeing the other photos, which show the height and the grassy landing (which would have been extremely soft given all the rain we've been having recently).

Having said that, I would have not have been happy if I had asked my husband not to do it and he ignored me.

I used to carry my children in a sling and when they were older I used a backpack carrier. I also used to carry them on my shoulders sometimes.

However, I never dangled them out of windows, over sea walls or over animal enclosures!

Surprised by the posters slating dads for carrying little uns on their shoulders. I carried my toddler on mine (while wearing summer wedge sandals too btw) for many a mile. Never once considered it dangerous. Felt riskier having a runner of a toddler by the hand on the pavement tbh!
