Woman says she is shamed by other mums for being 'naturally pretty'
mol.im/a/13287499

Maybe it's where I live but I find it's a competition to be the fittest, etc

I’ll say nothing.

theworldie · 09/04/2024 17:05

I’m guessing this is a joke article as for one she really isn’t particularly pretty and two how would other mothers go about “shaming” someone because they’re pretty?

Maybe they just think she’s very odd?

Dartmoorcheffy · 09/04/2024 17:06

Hmmm, she's rather deluded.

RulesPolicies · 09/04/2024 17:08

Why is this deemed news and in a newspaper? If I didn’t know better, I’d think it was a load of click bait nonsense designed to get people worked up, but surely that can be true….

Februaryfeels · 09/04/2024 17:08

I don't know what she was thinking about agreeing to this article.
Makes totally setting herself up for abuse.

SweetFemaleAttitude · 09/04/2024 17:09

What is it kids say these days? Delulu

I was getting Samantha brick vibes but she's more talking about working with what you've got and making the effort to work out rather than calling herself beautiful - I hope

It’s the Mail - I really wouldn’t take it seriously. As another poster said, it’s clickbait.

It’s quite sad really as she may be vulnerable in some way and will make herself a target for this.

pictoosh · 09/04/2024 17:25

I think she's a bit deluded. I mean she's an attractive woman in an ordinary sense but nothing other women might feel threatened by.

BettyShagter · 09/04/2024 17:27

It has to be a joke.

But why would she embarrass herself and open herself up to the shit tonne of criticism she's going to get now, for the sake of a few quid? 😔

BettyShagter · 09/04/2024 17:28

And she shouldn't have dragged her poor child into it, that was low.

Arrogance is never an attractive trait.

I thought he was putting out fake feelgood, cute stories like the baby hedgehog bobble?

I've never heard of her son's name before either, is Arthane common elsewhere?

EDIT
Amee says she is also judged for breastfeeding her son in public - including on the bus, on a bike, and at the arcade - and at work.
How the hell do you breastfeed on a bike?!?

I feel sorry for her; it looks like the DM has set out to make her look bad. I don't think she's wrong for saying she prefers to be natural and not have fillers etc. I think they've twisted it because the headline doesn't really match the quotes in the article.

I'm going to assume no-one held a gun to her head to give her 15 minutes of fame?

It's her son I feel sorry for.

onlywomengetperiods · 09/04/2024 19:53

this is classic DM ragebait. They have absolutely set this woman up to be mocked knowing that she is not conventionally attractive or in great shape.

Which in my opinion is quite cruel.

I think you are being rather generous

muggart · 09/04/2024 22:23

@BettyShagter no but I mean they might have changed the context and put a bit of spin on it. It's easy for them to do.

Women who have body confidence are despised, especially by men, and I think they're leveraging that.
