Has everyone got wind?

Ha. I mean the weather type.
Second day of high winds.
Are you still going out?

Yes big gusts. Fence is swaying. Got a load to do in the garden as well but nope, not going out. The wind annoys me immensely, I'd sooner work outside in the rain than the wind. Looks like it might die down tomorrow morning here.

RagzRebooted · 07/04/2024 12:21

Yep, very windy and DS2 is going camping apparently!

midgetastic · 07/04/2024 12:22

Well I was thinking the only good thing with the wind was it might dry the ground a little

What this weather will mean for this years harvest I dread to think

PassingStranger · 07/04/2024 12:29

Yes, blowing a gale here. Annoying.

Gamerlady · 07/04/2024 12:42

Same here, managed to dry 3 loads of washing, so not all bad

KreedKafer · 07/04/2024 12:50

It’s quite blustery where I am, but nothing that would stop anyone from going out. (Unless they had some sort of weather-related phobia I suppose.) It was a lot windier here yesterday but again, not ‘stay at home for your own safety’ weather. I know it was a lot worse in some areas though!

midgetastic · 07/04/2024 12:53

We did go out

I broke into a run heading uphill, carried by the wind

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 07/04/2024 12:54

Very blustery but got loads done in the garden yesterday and today. Have been madly weeding and hacking down brambles as want to put up a permanent gazebo and the weeds have to be gone first.

Malarandras · 07/04/2024 12:55

Very windy here, went out for a walk and it was fine though.

CrunchyCarrot · 07/04/2024 13:01

Yes very windy here still. We went out to get some DIY stuff.

idontlikealdi · 07/04/2024 13:10

Fixed three panels of fence Thursday from the last storm that had been waiting for ages because there were no panels available. Two more went down last night. Joy.

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/04/2024 13:11

It's OK here, a bit windy but nothing out of the ordinary. I live on top of a hill so we normally get blasted

Concrete posts!

I was in this cycle a few years ago, panel comes down, replace it, another panel comes down, replace it......

Got pig sick of it and bought a few short concrete struts that go in immediately in front of the existing posts and then bolt to the post. £20 each, took about an hour to dig the holes, put strut in then just poured some quick set concrete into the hole and held the post 5 mins until it had set enough to let go, great big screw goes through the pre drilled hole and into the wooden post.

All panels have stayed upright for about 4 years now.

Mytattooisbiggerthanyours · 07/04/2024 13:27

Yes but I blame the menopause.

Pinkpinkpink15 · 07/04/2024 13:30

Yep, very windy.

forecast sun, warmth, low wind.

had sun first thing (lovely sunrise), rain on & off all day, grey cloud most of the day & it's chilly.

I'm not not going out because of the rain/wind (I often do), i just can't be arsed, I'm sooooo tired, but had been looking forward to go out in the sunshine!! Even if just to have coffee in the village and feeling the sun on my face.

Fairysteps11 · 07/04/2024 13:50

This mornings has been lovely, sunny and light breeze so dd13 football game is still kicking off at 2. I have been out of the car for 5 minutes, the wind has massively picked back up and it's now pouring down. Roll on 3.15 🙄

EveryOtherNameTaken · 07/04/2024 14:01

Sunny and pretty breezy here in London. Just grateful the temperature is finally rising. This wind when it was 2° was painful! Let alone with added rain! 🙄

Dontcallmescarface · 07/04/2024 14:41

Yep. Very windy yesterday and today with the added joy of a weather warning for high winds again tomorrow night. I'm hoping the trees in the lanes manage to stay upright otherwise my commute tomorrow afternoon/evening ( late shift), is going to be interesting.

Hoglet70 · 07/04/2024 14:51

I need to walk the dog but DH thinks a tree will land on us 🙄

theduchessofspork · 07/04/2024 16:00

Yes, it’s not a tornado though, why wouldn’t you go out?

girlfriend44 · 07/04/2024 18:44

Now it's raining. Did manage to get some washing dry though.
