AIBU that DH and I are too sick to eat McDonalds ?

DH and I are driving 6 hours to spend a week with his parents to help them with the house, medical appointments, etc. We were too sick to travel yesterday but have to go today as we have the plumber coming (to his parents') first thing tomorrow.

Typically when we do this trip without the DC* we stop for a McDonald's when we wee and change drivers. It's like a little treat before we spend a week of DIY, cleaning, etc. DH loves McDonald's, but otherwise we eat home cooked food.

AIBU to be a bit sad that we are both too ill to eat today, esp. as the drive will be a bit of a struggle / more tiring given that we're both feeling a bit crap?

Someone could make me understand metaphysics before this thread starts making sense.
If you can travel and eat then you can eat McDonald's surely? What am I missing? Is there some sort of "old wives tale" belief regarding Maccys that I'm not party to?
How can anyone just tell their other half that they are too ill to have a portion of chips whilst expecting a few days worth of activities from them. I'd be divorce level outraged at such nonsense.

Help?! 🫨

Not sure why when you just asked a simple AIBU your thread's been derailed by questioning exactly why your stomach's feeling delicate / are you contagious / you must be contagious / you shouldn't be travelling etc. Going off on a tangent a bit!

Because it's an anonymous question on an anonymous forum specifically regarding health advice yet OP still refuses to disclose exactly what symptoms or condition they both suffered from.

Extremely attention seeking imo

She's not asking for health advice?! She's asking if it's unreasonable to feel sad at missing their usual McDonald's - where did you get health advice from that?

Howling with a hangover clearly

Never to ill for a McD. Best hangover cure EVER! So clearly good for all ailments 🤭

welshcakes6 · 07/04/2024 21:54

Ah shame about the McDonald's! I actually know a few couples who both have ibd and got together through support groups. So totally possible for them both to be unwell not contagious not hungover and not have food poisoning!
Hope you feel a bit better on the way home and can get one then instead 🥰

I'm never too ill for a McDonald's! Those salty fries always make me feel better 😌

Thanks, everyone ! The journey yesterday was fine, the plumber visit this morning has gone well and I am feeling better, but DH is still a bit poorly.
