Inspired by the ‘biggest problems’ thread.
What is the best thing about your life at the moment? What do you feel proud of or what has changed your life for the better?

I don’t have anything to share but I’d love to hear some positive inspiration!

My children, my cats, my husband. They each individually bring so much joy to my life.

Whatineed · 06/04/2024 19:14

My teen DS, I've been very lucky, he's been to hell and back with his father and is such a decent young man.

My dog.

My hairdresser.

My boss and colleagues.

HeadNorth · 06/04/2024 19:18

I have a lovely husband, children and house. But my current biggest joy is my young horse I am bringing on - it is scary, exhausting, exhilarating and rewarding. As thrilling for me now as a middle aged lady as when I first started riding as a girl - I am so lucky to have that direct connection to my inner teenager.

The dh & my sister.

KreedKafer · 06/04/2024 19:21

My partner. He’s the absolute best and in twenty-one years, I can count the arguments we’ve had on one hand.

Hagbard · 06/04/2024 19:22

The dog - Today I watched him rolling in the best springy grass he's ever laid foot on. Compl

I am also grateful I live alone and can please myself. Safe home to go home to every night.

HandsomeJack · 06/04/2024 19:23

My family. They absolutely adore me, all of them. Honestly, I'm a bit of a nob head, but they truly only see the good in me.

Hatty65 · 06/04/2024 19:24

My lovely, kind and supportive DH.

Far and away the best thing in my life.

Hands down DP

Three amazing adult children and a grandchild. Good friends. Living alone with space and time to pursue my interests. Safe drinking water and access to good health care. WFH as and when I want. Enough money to cover the bills. Feel very lucky to have my life, hopefully not in a smug way but an appreciative one.

Apart from the obvious, good health, home and family; I love that I enjoy reading, it really takes me out of my own world and allows me to learn.

squashyhat · 06/04/2024 19:34

I have just got home from lunch with 5 friends I have known since school. We are all in our 60s and have led very different lives, lost touch at various times, but amazingly realised we all lived fairly close to each other about 10 years ago and started meeting up regularly. They are all hilarious, brave, opinionated, kind and fiesty women amd my life is all the richer for them being in it.

Partner, family, friends, reading, music, TV, clouds, Lego.

AliasGrape · 06/04/2024 19:42

My daughter. It’s that weird contradiction isn’t it? She’s an exhausting whirlwind of a 3 year old, I find it bloody hard most some days but she’s the absolute joy of my life. We were just lying on the bed and she was playing at being the mummy and putting me to sleep, stroking my head and making up a song about how mummy will always be here and will always come and get you if you’re sad and that will never change (with a few random frozen lyrics thrown in for good measure) and honestly my heart could just burst.

I have a lovely husband, great family and friends and a job that’s interesting and flexible, also my health which is huge as there’s a lot of people around me at the moment who can’t say that. I’m really lucky in lots of ways but the absolute best thing is definitely my daughter.

MamaMoon16 · 06/04/2024 19:44

Health, enough wealth and happiness for me and my kids.

A loving partner.

A job I enjoy.

Our home and lovely village.

Lovely to read all of these ☺️

App13 · 06/04/2024 19:47

My mother that supports me in raising my daughter

GoingOutShoes · 06/04/2024 19:47

My DH. He has dementia and is in care but I visit every day for a couple of hours. Sometimes we talk, sometimes we just sit and hold hands. He's still my safe place, my comfort and my joy.

UmaniCaroline · 06/04/2024 19:49

Husband, Daughter, Grandchildren.

Nothing much else, but that's a lot to be grateful for.

Abstractthinking · 06/04/2024 19:53

Daughter, dog and flat.

inappropriateraspberry · 06/04/2024 19:54

My family. Good people.

Wooloohooloo · 06/04/2024 19:56

Kids, cat, living alone.

PassingStranger · 06/04/2024 19:59

My health because you can't buy it and if it's not good you can't enjoy much.

Sconeswithnutella · 06/04/2024 20:01

A few years ago my oldest was in constant torment after years of bullying and harassment and I used to cry myself to sleep every night. Fast forward to now and she’s a strong, confident young lady with a great job in something she’s amazing at. The saying “you are only as happy as your unhappiest child” is true for me.

Veryverycalmnow · 06/04/2024 20:05

Work life balance- my family get more of my time and I get to hang out with them which is important to me, but I have enough job satisfaction in my part- time job. I don't have as much money as some but we are rich in time together and love.
