I'm a pub landlady. I can hold my own in 99.9% of situations, and present a strong front.

Today, after a disagreement with a customer about someone I had barred, he called me Myra Hindley, and said I was probably a cold, kiddie fiddling murderer like her. He said this more than once.

This absolutely floored me. I can deal with agression and swearing, you get used to that to some extent, but this?

I don't know how to deal with how it made me feel. I think it is a despicable thing to say to someone. DH wants to bar this bloke now, I just want to forget the exchange never happened.

I guess younger people won't know how hated that woman was, and to be compared to her is extremely hurtful. Perhaps I will feel differently tomorrow after a good sleep.

fk that, barred. No longer welcome. Vitriol and hatred aside, not a good customer if he can turn on the hate when confronted.

Doesn't like women. Thinks any women who stands up to a man needs to be told she is 'cold'. Because women are supposed to put up and shut up. Not stand up to men.

Ban him. Do the other women in your pub a favor.
