to think that if I shared an explicit picture of myself with a stranger and then they used that to blackmail to release client information, I would be sacked?

I guess people know what we are talking about.

William Wragg: Jeremy Hunt praises MP's apology over dating app incident - BBC News

If you send an explicit picture of yourself to a stranger, you are asking for danger.

If I did that and I was blackmailed into releasing personal information on other people, I would be sacked,

But hey, it's an accident. Nothing to see here.

And as for MPs who then were contacted by a stranger and then sent their own explicit pictures, what is there to say?

Yes, of course, enjoy away.
We do need some sense of humour to take this.

MushMonster · 09/04/2024 06:48

Well, he resigned.
There is a good pic in the Guardian.

Northernsouloldies · 09/04/2024 06:59

Hopefully not the one that got him in trouble 😵‍💫

MushMonster · 09/04/2024 07:16

Have a cheeky look at the newspaper 😉
You know you want to....
(Note: you will not need a beaker)

As an MP, as he ought to have done weeks ago?

Well, he resigned.
There is a good pic in the Guardian.

He’s resigned from his roles in the HoC (Commons Committee and 1922 Committee), but not as an MP.

DuncinToffee · 09/04/2024 11:31

Wragg has only resigned as vice chairman of 1922 Committee , he still has the whip

The Westminster honeytrapper surfaced as far back as Labour conference in October 2023.

Attendees say it was the first time they were messaged by "Charlie" on Grindr and his profile appeared nearby, not through the "explore" function.

A Labour politician was also messaged on WhatsApp. "Are you at conference this year?" and "Are you still out?"

DuncinToffee · 09/04/2024 12:04

Correction, he has also resigned as chair of the Commons’ public administration and constitutional affairs committee

I'm assuming Wragge - already decided to stand down - is carrying the can for a load of Tory sex dodginess that can all be filed away under the umbrella of 'its all Wragge'qs fault that my willy fell out of my trousers and my phone took a photo by mistake' and that's why he's been treated gently. What a shower they all are, untrustworthy to the last of them.

DuncinToffee · 09/04/2024 12:15

There have been suggestions that if the whip was removed he would have to appear in front of the Standard Commission which would mean an investigation and some public disclosure

MushMonster · 09/04/2024 12:21

Give him a few more days, we need to spread the excitement! We cannot have it all in one go!
Maybe he will drop something else tomorrow....

newtlover · 09/04/2024 12:36

I suppose they want to avoid a by election at all costs
but as I understand it it wouldn't be hard for his constituents to force this

the more other stories come out from MPs and others, who have been approached like this, and then reported it straight away, the more of a craven idiot he shows himself to be

Exactly, there is Tory MP Luke Evans, and now BBC journalist Henry Zeffman

Wragg 'voluntarily' gives up Tory whipThe Conservative MP caught in a honeytrap on a dating app has "voluntarily" given up the Conservative whip tonight, it has been confirmed.
A spokesperson for the Tory whips office said: "Following Will Wragg’s decision to step back from his roles on the Public Accounts and 1922 committees, he has also notified the chief whip that he is voluntarily relinquishing the Conservative whip."
This likely means that Mr Wragg will now sit as an independent MP.

Not quite what I meant, he hasn't resigned as an MP, which is what he ought to have done ages ago.

its almost like the political series house of cards only omg real life

Weak from Sunak not to fire him

He really is thick as mince, isn't he? No wonder he had to move back in with his Mum and Dad because he couldn't budget effectively on his MP's £74k salary + expenses for free accommodation in London and got investigated for his excessive & undeclared expenses on election campaigning a year or so later.

Yep, brave my arse.

They are really scraping the barrel......AGAIN

There's a hole in the bottom of the barrel because the Tories have scraped it so many times.

MushMonster · 11/04/2024 07:40

What?
Ok, again, they did it! He managed to shock me with the full view password, for the whole world to see!
There is an alternative world underneath the barrel.
We reached it back on Boris' days and we have found really interesting specimens down there. The longer we dig, the more we uncover.
This will look great on Spitting Image! They may.... just copy/ paste the interviews and declarations into their script. They do not even have to make it up. 😂
