Constantly being tailgated

Just going to have a little rant here. I'm really shook up with what has just happened whilst I was driving home from work tonight. Long story short, I was following the speed limit on a 30mph road when somebody overtook me whilst on a bridge! This car did not know if another person was on the other side of that bridge. Thank God they weren't! I keep playing out different scenarios in my head as to what could have happened, and it's driving me crazy! I don't mind people overtaking me as long as it's safe. If you want to drive over the speed limit, that's up to you, but don't put other people's lives at risk! At this point, I'm honestly sick to death of being tailgated or taken over while driving. I'm not sure if it's because of the car I drive or that it's small. Honestly, if I didn't have to work, I wouldn't bother driving. Does anybody else get tailgated and overtaken while driving sensibly? Am I doing something wrong? I need some Kalms lol! I hope you all have a nice weekend!🤓

There are a huge amount of selfish, dangerous drivers on the roads.
Tailgaters will tailgate whatever speed you're going - then overtake and carry on doing the same speed as you but in front of you.
Idiots.

When I used to drive I was tailgated a lot. I always drove really small cars. I agree it is very stressful.

Doyoumind · 05/04/2024 00:38

If it happens to you constantly perhaps it is something to do with your driving.

PearlBiscuit · 05/04/2024 00:47

You’re 100% right! It’s so frustrating

I think it definitely does have something to do with the car as when I drive my partners car it never seems to happen, so annoying!

I just find a space to pull in and let them pass.
I do drive a bigger car, I think they think I'm going to race them, but the fuel economy isn't that good.

I had the satisfying experience of seeing a speed camera flash as a tailgater accelerated past me today. We were in a school zone, ffs, so I (and everyone else) was driving at the speed limit, except this person who just had to overtake. Putting children’s’ lives at risk deserves a fine and I was pleased to see the camera go off!

PearlBiscuit · 05/04/2024 01:02

A school zone too🤦🏻‍♀️ what is wrong with people! I bet that camera flash was very satisfying!

Errrr, no!!

If the speed limit was 30mph and she was driving at 30mph, then what was the issue?!

I was tailgated tonight. I was driving appropriately for the weather but some idiot wasn't happy. He roared past me only to get stopped at traffic lights about 200 yards ahead. Just as the lights turned green I had a chuckle as a bus pulled out & he was stuck behind that. All that aggression & he got one car ahead of where he was

What a knob

I feel this behaviour is becoming more prevalent too, it makes me especially nervous when I have passengers (children) in the back seat
