Give them each a tub of very sticky chewy sweets and grab yourself some quiet

Illstartexercisingtomorrow · 04/04/2024 19:15

iPad/tablet.

DGPP · 04/04/2024 19:15

Totally agree, relentless and tiring

MrsSamR · 04/04/2024 19:17

Are you me? Had a DAY with my 4 year old and 18 month old. My 18 month old actually jumped on my head at one point. And I did have a glass of wine at 4.30 while making dinner for them. They're both in bed now and I'm watching them on the monitor with my heart bursting with love...motherhood is a trip isn't it?!

Hankunamatata · 04/04/2024 19:18

That was me at 31. Hats off at 43 and peri. I'm barely holding myself and my teens together in my 40s

Yeah, there is no escape! Stay home, difficult, take them out, difficult! It does get easier...

Whatisthefuss · 04/04/2024 21:37

Sending love and support from a fellow mum on the absolute edge of divorcing her entire family just for some peace and quiet. Well and truelly over stimulated by children needing me every second of the day , I get that’s my role but still … I need a break too 😣

TurnedInTunedoutAndFckedOff · 04/04/2024 22:45

Thank you for letting me vent! So good to hear im not alone. Currently sat in bed watching NF & eating the rest of the flapjacks I made earlier. . . The other half of the half I ate earlier. . . That should have been for the kids . . .oh well!
Keep up the good work mumsnetters! And I guess, remember how beautiful then look when they sleep 😴 😍

Another one asking are you me? Had a day with the DC. Lost it big time tonight when, post a day in his nice cosy office, DH came home from the takeaway with. the. wrong. order. Could have killed him.

MsLuxLisbon · 04/04/2024 22:49

Quit the booze, it never helps.

Oh bore off. I don't drink myself but don't be such a judgemental sausage.

1daughterand3sons · 04/04/2024 22:51

I feel you today has been relentless I just want to run away I can't take anymore crying for today. DS2 has been the worst of them all he's crying about everything and now he is refusing to sleep.

It actually does, in moderation, in most some situations.

I was being quite serious. If the OP is really drinking every day, then that's a bad idea as alcohol is a depressant. I'm not saying she's an alcoholic, just that it is bad for the system to have that constant drip drip drip. I have no other advice as I'm not a parent.

Where does it say she's drinking everyday?
She just said today by 4.30?

Projecting much?

WaterFast · 04/04/2024 22:55

Not a parent but chooses to bash a mum of 3 under 5 for having a glass of wine.

Come back when you've dealt with that...

No, it really doesn't. Up to the OP, of course, but I cannot think of a single bad situation in my life that was ever even slightly helped by alcohol, and a lot that were made worse.

Dealt with what? Not being a parent? I don't want to be, not my idea of a good time. I'm the same age as OP and having kids is my idea of hell.

winniethepooped · 04/04/2024 22:59

Enjoying this thread....slowly loosing my shit as my 7 month old has decided that he's actually going to wake up about 6 times a night now. 2.5 year old is a bundle of energy.

A glass of wine helps

A spa break on my own would also help. Can you imaginnnnneee the bliss.

I'd end up spending the whole time doting over photos of my two boys which is strangely what me and DH after a crazy day! Lol makes no sense

Not really, there are plenty of non parents on here. It hasn't been a site for parents only for a very, very long time.

So maybe be supportive? Rather than chastising people for having a glass of wine in a situation you've never even experienced?

winniethepooped · 04/04/2024 23:05

@MsLuxLisbon horrible comments. Every single one.

Many many people can have one glass (which is all OP stated) of wine and it eases tension and helps reduce stress.

You can't? Or maybe can't stop at one?
