Posting here for traffic… sorry….Hi had total hysterectomy at beginning of Jan went straight on to hrt. Have been left with bladder spasm and vulvodynia.
im on 125 oestrogen ( 100 patch and 1 pump) oestrogen vaginal cream and testosterone.
but im so down, can’t be bothered to do anything.
i never feel hungry, i eat cus i know i have to….ive lost a stone in the last six weeks
getting dressed feels like an effort.
im paying for counselling because it was six month waiting list on nhs, im paying for pelvic floor physio cus the waiting list was 10 months.
my go just tries to give me antidepressants.
i have thoughts about ending it all but love my family to much to put them through that.
my husband is amazing and has been my rock but even that has back fired because when he’s not here I feel worse.
just wondered if anyone else felt like this and has come out the other side

I had a hysterectomy but didn't have your issues and didn't feel this low. Have you tried antidepressants? If you're feeling that low that you want to end it you should try and accept the help that's on offer. Antidepressants take time to work as well. Sorry you're feeling this way.

Stick with the pelvic floor physio, it worked wonders for my vulvodynia. I hope you feel better soon ❤️

I tried antidepressants for a week, the side effects were awful, they made me suicidal. I’m in such a bad place I can’t trust myself to get worse before I get better.

I think its common that they make you feel worse before better, but I can see why you are saying you don't want to try them. They can also adjust your HRT you don't need to stay on the initial ones if they are not right for you.

@CraftyBum gps are useless, trying to get them to help as been pointless, I’ve seen 3, one said that I should try gel but only 2 pumps. One said just cut patches in half and see how it goes, the other one said what I’m on was fine.
im going to try and see a private meno specialist but im already spending 300 a month on counselling, physio and my prescription for testosterone.

I've tried those things, less patch, more gel and so on and I found what worked for me eventually.

Flamminsausage · 04/04/2024 13:11

@CraftyBum how long did you give each change before trying something new? Hope you don’t mind me picking your brain.

I dont mind at all. I had mine 6 years ago and to be honest it's took me around 4 years eventually to settle on the one I preferred. Some I felt low on, some I felt great but gained weight, some the hot flushes were so bad. Some I needed bigger or smaller doses depending on my symptoms. You are still very early days, were you feeling any of this beforehand? If not, then this should be fixable with exploring different HRT 💐
