E1 banding? What does this mean?

Hi, my 4 year old son has recently received his draft EHCP and has been allocated E1 banding. Please could anyone advise more
on what this actually equates to in terms of the support he will receive each day when he starts school in September? (I’ve asked the case worker but thought someone on here may hopefully reply to me more speedily!)
as you may be able to tell, this is my first experience of an EHCP so any advice around what this E1 term actually means in real life would be appreciated, thankyou xx

Depends on the LA, they have different ways of recording the allocated resources. In my LA Band E would equate to about a £6k top up but like I say, it's a variable system.
Apologies, unhelpful in terms of hours - that would equate (in my LA terms) to about 25 hours a week.

Hi, thanks for your reply, so roughly 25 hours a week of support /supervision while in school? So just under a full 1:1? Is that right?

The support must be specified and quantified in the echp. If you read the plan and don't understand how many hours 1:1 support, SALT etc he will get, you need to reject it. the plan of then obviously not sufficiently specified and quantified. Return it to the caseworker to get everything clearly written into the plan - all specified and quantified. It's a legally binding document. Appeal if need be. Dont accept it like that.

You need to get the 25h 1:1 written into the plan. Simple as that. not with banging. You can only demand the support that is written in there. Banding doesn't give you that.
