I tried and failed to find a previous thread 😅. Aibu to ask for your recommendations for cover songs that are better than the original? One of mines is Miley Cyrus, Just Like A Prayer. It gives me goosebumps, not everyones cup of tea but I love it.

Since Hendrix recorded his version, Dylan has only played this song as a rock song, so he agrees with you somewhat. I like My Chemical Romance's version of Desolation Row, as used in the film Warchmen.

I love Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compares but the cover by Pink (Radio 2 Piano Room?) made me cry! It was beautiful.

MCR also have their own take on Mariah’s All I Want for Christmas Is You which is quite something.

I think The Stranglers cover of Dionne Warwick's 'Walk on by' is fantastic. Just love that bass! Also Soft Cell's cover of 'Tainted Love'. I really like the original by Gloria Jones,but I think Soft Cell's is even better.

These guys only do covers, but my god, that Disney song gives me goosebumps every single time.
