First passport help

I’m just applying for first passports for me and my children.

they are asking for full birth certificates of paternal fathers parents. I have no contact with the children father nor his mom and he doesn’t even know his dad.
will I still be able to get a passport for the children?

You dont. Theres a dedicated text box on form where you can explain.

Are you out if the UK? I only had to get someone to witness me and my dc dad signing the form to verify our identity but there is a bit where you can select if childs father is absent and does not need to be included then.

Would it maybe be easier to apply for yours first. I would think once you have a passport yourself it should be easier to get the children’s as you can give your passport number. Iv just got my daughter’s first passport and I have only had to send her birth certificate and give my passport number. I Also gave my husbands expired passport number but I’m not sure if this was actually needed or not

So being spontaneous like I am, I’ve already booked our holiday for the end of may 😆
all documents are in the post so fingers crossed I don’t have any issues. I just included all birth certificates and a letter to say my mother was deceased but wouldn’t send the death cert incase it gets lost.
Pray for me please 🤣

When I applied for my child’s first passport I just put all the information it required about myself and did not add anything for father even though my ex has parental consent as he is on the birth certificate, I wasn’t able to answer the questions as we are no contact. I included a letter stating this. Wasn’t a problem and passport was issued.
