Who are you with and how much do you pay?

We recently left sky don't miss it at all. Was £117 for TV and broadband inc sports HD etc. When we rang to leave they knocked £30 off a month but we said no.
Then last week an offer in the post to come back with even more money off! As a pp said ring them to tell them you're leaving and negotiate it down.

OnceinaMinion · 27/03/2024 12:52

What are you getting on sky? I get now Tv for the odd month now and again to watch something on there, it’s not worth it for the tv.

i was overpaying with sky for years, I would ring to get it down and then it would go up again. After I cancelled they sent me the most ridiculously low offer to rejoin. I wouldn’t sign up with them ever again.

I'm with Sky. I have the superfast fibre broadband, Netflix, Disney +, and Sky TV and pay £42 a month. I think you're being conned a bit there.

Are you a new customer? They seem to have great deals for new customers but the loyal ones they've had for years they rip off.

£4.99 a month for Netflix plus rotating free/very cheap trials of Now or Prime. Currently on £1pm (for 3 months) for Now film channels, so £5.99 total.

There's plenty for me on iplayer and All4, plus YouTube. Some of the figures here are incredible.

RinklyRomaine · 27/03/2024 12:59

You have to ring every time you are out of contract. They whack it up mid contract and remove offers but if you threaten to go they do usually put it back down again.

OfDragonsDeep · 27/03/2024 13:00

I cancelled ours earlier this year when they put it up from £65 to £95. They had a new customer deal on their website for £55 which had all we needed and we asked to move to that deal. They flat out refused, so we left and got fire sticks and internet from Vodafone for £30 per month (+Disney which we already had)

Sky then kept calling us begging to come back, offering to beat the original £55 new customer deal. I had to ask them to stop contacting us as it was too late. So glad we’ve left, get everything we need on the Firesticks and upgraded Fiber internet with Vodafone.

Caspianberg · 27/03/2024 13:05

Wow.
we pay €40 for internet. €7.99 Netflix

Ditched live tv back in 2008 when I moved and never added since. Never had sky etc

Thats £2000 a year some of you spend, to watch tv?

Scarlettpixie · 27/03/2024 13:08

Flipping heck that’s a lot!

I pay £22 for broadband and £3.99 for now TV cinema at the minute and we have prime tv though wouldn’t pay it for the tv package but rather for speedy free amazon post. I have a tv licence and watch a fair bit on bbc iplayer. We dip in and out of Netflix and Disney plus but are currently watching the walking dead on prime (which is handy) and we are only on season 3 so that will keep us going for a bit.

Over the year I reckon I pay on about £50-60 per month on average.

Never had sky.

Lucythecleaner · 27/03/2024 13:09

Im on the 99p a month for 9 months for broadband then it goes up to £26 a month. And use free view. So at the moment just 99p a month

lingmerth · 27/03/2024 13:09

We pay £90 monthly with Virgin for broadband, phone line and full package of tv sky sports, sky movies, TNT sport, Netflix and 3 TiVo boxes. I've got a Virgin mobile phone and they always seem to tie in deals with that.
Always always negotiate at the end of a contract.

Floopani · 27/03/2024 13:12

Wow, that's a huge amount. I pay £45 a month for high speed broadband as we both work from home and DCs are gamers. Then £10 each for netflix and prime. No TV package or TV licence. There is a home phone line but we don't use it, it just makes the broadband cheaper.

Lemonade84 · 27/03/2024 13:12

I'm gobsmacked by these prices. I pay £29.99 for fibre broadband and £8.99 for Netflix and I begrudge paying that.

TeenLifeMum · 27/03/2024 13:13

I had no idea. No wonder so many people are poor!

GiantRoadPuzzle · 27/03/2024 13:14

£73 for broadband, Sky TV, cinema, sports, kids and Netflix.

Renewed it just before Christmas, I’m pretty dogged on the phone though.

TheDandyLion · 27/03/2024 13:16

£21 for broadband (work pays for half of it cos wfh) and I sail the seas for TV.

ItIsEverywhere · 27/03/2024 13:16

£37 for fibre broadband inc. my mobile phone and then Netflix separately.
I think I need to show DP this thread to back up my assertion we don't do too badly!

Mines £80 something for Virgin TV, Phone and Broadband. I have the full TV package including TNT and Sky Sports.

You need to speak to them if you want it cheaper, every 18months when my current price is going to expire I get a letter informing me and then I ring them up and always get it cheaper again for another 18months. I'm sure my package is meant to be £150-£160 or something.

SocksAndTheCity · 27/03/2024 13:19

I forgot my broadband - I have 3 4G at £11 a month, which is half price for the first year. I don't need or want a land line phone so it's perfect Smile

£16.99 total.

YouAndMeAndThem · 27/03/2024 13:19

Less than £50 for fibre broadband, netflix, Disney and paramount

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 27/03/2024 13:22

£46 for sky TV, broadband and netflix.

Then have disney plus paid with tesco clubcard vouchers and then amazon prime at 8.99.

I could not imagine paying 185 a month for TV and broadband.

SpringOfContentment · 27/03/2024 13:27

37 for virgin broadband - fastest in the area by miles.
Plus Netflix. Which, because of where we lived when we took it out is priced in US$ so changes every month. Around £9, usually.

So, £46.

Had to ring virgin on renewal to ask what deals they had on, but they quickly brought it down from £50 to £37. Worth ringing sky.

roses2 · 27/03/2024 13:30

Some of these costs are insane! I pay:

  • £24/month for 100mb full fibre Sky broadband
  • £12/month for Sky (Now tv) entertainment & movies with multi screen
  • £5/month Netflix
  • Total - £41/month

What are you talking about Sherrie?

I'm trying to reduce my costs so am asking other people what service they use and how much they pay. How is that humblebragging?

Nots456 · 27/03/2024 13:45

No broadband, no TV packages or Netflix.
I pay £11 per month for 100GB on my SIM only mobile and hotspot all internet from that. Very occasionally watch YouTube or listen to the radio
😂
