Feeling really rotten today with heavy cold exacerbated by lack of sleep both DC up 2-3 times in night and DS up at 5 am.
So far have sat on sofa on mumsnet whilst chaos happens around me. DC are still unwashed in PJs, but are fed and DS has had nappy change so not total neglect

I feel really bad for them but cannot be ased to do anything. AIBU for not making the efort to get them up and outof the house?

YANBU at all but I always find that when I have a "chill" day, by 2 o'clock I am climbing the walls!

Bluestocking · 28/03/2008 10:08

Don't be daft! Enjoy an indoor day. I don't know where you are but here the weather is foul anyway. Don't forget to make a den with chairs and blankets!

grouphug · 28/03/2008 10:08

No, you must be knackered, compromise and have a rest this morning and them get them dressed and do something later. Hope your cold gets better soon.

pedilia · 28/03/2008 10:09

YANBU it helps with the sanity to have days like this

Hope you feel better soon

SoupKitchen · 28/03/2008 10:12

I know what you mean SLM but Normally am up and out by 9.30. Probably by lunchtime will have changed my mind.
I just always so guilty about not doing stuff with them IYKWIM rarely just leave them to get on with it like this

YANBU

Tiggerish · 28/03/2008 10:18

glad someone else is giving in to the temptation! My dc's are also still in pj's and I don't intend to do anything about it!!

sarahloumadam · 28/03/2008 10:19

Ikwym but don't feel guilty! I spent a lot of my childhood just pootling about and doing not v.much really. Develops their imagination! Give yourself a break.

needtoasksomething · 28/03/2008 10:20

YANBU we are all still in jimjams too!
Not feeling unwell but I was up in the night several times with both kids so thats my excuse

moondog · 28/03/2008 10:22

Don't feel bad about 'not doing stuff' with them, but a shower and clean clothes and a quick trip out will make you all feel loads better.

ImPinkThereforeImSpam · 28/03/2008 10:29

Pyjama days are brilliant! We do them at least once a month! Last time we made a nest in the middle of the living room out of all the sofa cushions and duvets! Then we took turns "Foraging" in the fridge for all the goodies that I'd planted the night before! (A fair mix of healthy stuff and treats!) We sang along to all our fave cds and had a dvd fest! DH came home after a crap day at work and was dragged in and cosseted by DCs!

scoopmuckanddizzy · 28/03/2008 10:29

DD and I not dressed either. It's miserable outside and I'm knackered from dd being up in the night. She seems happy enough though, I can hear her reading to her teddies!

Enjoy!

Minkus · 28/03/2008 10:31

YA def NBU- at least I hope not as ds and I are still in pj's as well. It's Friday, it's bucketing down with rain outside, we have nowhere we need to be and I had 4.5 hours sleep as ds was awake and crying lots in the night with growing pains poor lamb. So to be fair even if YABU I would still say go for it as I bloody well will be.

OverMyDeadBody · 28/03/2008 10:32

YANBU! I'm working from home today (pah!) and DS and I are still in our pyjamas. Don't feel guilty, we all deserve a break sometimes.

bonkerz · 28/03/2008 10:32

dont feel bad! I only realised this morning my kids aint had a bath since monday! Thats disgusting and unheard of in this house cos normally they have atlease 5 baths/showers per week if not every night! My Dcs are dressed BUt im in skanky top and leggings and no bra and have greasy hair!!!!!!! HOORAY for duvet days!

grouphug · 28/03/2008 10:37

lol at Bonkerz.

SoupKitchen · 28/03/2008 10:38

I like the nest of cushions idea, that sounds really appealing.

In fact looking at these relies all mnetters are in PJ's at 10.30, either that or all those who are up about and dissaprove are not up to commenting - no must be the first because mnetters are never backward in coming forward

Happy duvet day to all then

Nope, not at all, enjoy yourself and CHILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL !

If I hadnt had to go on the school run I would be doing the same.

Bonkerz, just realised my ds hasnt had a bath since Tue! ! ! ! My hair is greasy too, but have a bra on, doesnt match me knickers tho, mother wont be pleased.

THANK CRUNCHIE, its FRIDAY

squilly · 28/03/2008 16:17

It's a pyjama day!!! We do them quite often during school hols. And dd only bathes once a week (yes, I know...I'm really loppy) but it doesn't do anyone any harm (yet!). I've told her she'll get called Stinkbomb if she doesn't bathe more often, but she's used to my humour...just shrugs and says, er, mum...I don't think so!

Have a lovely lazy Friday. After all, how often do you get the chance to do this????
