Exs Name choices

So ex named his dog what we would've called our daughter if we had one (we had a son) ok a bit unimaginative but no big deal. He's new girlfriend is pregnant and they are naming the baby a name our baby was almost called like changed at the very last minute. Then our next baby was going to have it and again changed at last minute.

I know I don't own a name or anything but it just seems wierd or aibu?

To avoid a drip feed. He was abusive to the point of a non molestation order. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

He probably just likes the names which is why they were on your short list?

CatamaranViper · 24/03/2024 18:31

Yeah sorry, he's using names he liked the first two times around.

Luckydog7 · 24/03/2024 18:32

I honestly wouldn't waste my time thinking about him. He's a twat (because of the abuse not the names) and if he IS trying to get a raise from you it's best ignored too.

MississippiAF · 24/03/2024 18:35

Yeah he just wants to use the names he wanted.

Don’t give him the satisfaction of mentioning it

AlohaOptima · 24/03/2024 18:38

Were they his choices orginally and you vetoed them? Or were they your choices and he said no? I feel it makes a difference.

Theunamedcat · 24/03/2024 18:43

Happens more often than you think if half of reddit is to be believed some men call there children in family number two the same names as family number one

If reddit can be believed

ZombieBoob · 24/03/2024 18:49

My choices and he said no. Yeah It feels like it's to get a rise out of me.

He doesn’t deserve your headspace. Onwards and upwards ❤️

OhcantthInkofaname · 24/03/2024 19:40

Get a dog and give it the girl friends name!

ZombieBoob · 24/03/2024 19:44

Oh that's a good idea!!! We've already two dogs though

In all honesty I expect he was struggling to think of names and those ones came into his head but he probably didn't link them to you and then he'll realise one couple of years and think "oh.." and keep quiet about it to his new partner
