DH was in a middle management role (c60k so mid/ high) but was getting bullied by the his manager, taking credit for his work, rumours, jibes, constant negative feedback downplaying positive, basically actively trying to manage him out.

it broke him, I mean nervous wreck, had a break down. That got used against him and tried to force him out. After months he managed to secure another role in the same company and he’s just gone from strength to strength and it’s been so lovely to see. Nominated for an award, even still being new in that team and just found out he won! (I know it’s largely arbitrary but still) and today the bonuses revealed. His old boss tried to say he didn’t qualify for one ‘due to his attitude and performance’ but the new one is just so happy with how he is, they pushed back and he got the full bonus amount.

it’s not about the money, so I don’t want to seem like I’m bragging but his old manager did everything in his power to try and hurt DH, mentally, professionally and financially and I’m so glad it’s blown up in his face.

don’t really have anyone to say this irl too, aside from dh but I’m just so so glad there is some justice / karma in the universe. And by trying to hurt him, his ex boss actually benefited him In the long run.

I’m not sure how it’s blown up in old bosses face?

yes your dp has moved departments and done well under decent manager

whats happened to old boss?

MariaVT65 · 23/03/2024 02:35

YANBU. I’ve been there wth a bullying boss. You feel you should be able to handle it because you’re an intelligenr adult but you actually can’t do much because of the abuse of power. I made sure my manager didn’t get chosen for a role when it was time for redundancies and it was great.

Thefutureisourownpath · 23/03/2024 02:54

Well done to him.

That's hilarious. Will reflect terribly on the ex-manager too! Happy days x

@Sniksnaksnoram

Sincerely hope it will be noticed that the ex-boss's performance has declined since DH's transfer. Hopefully ex-boss will himself be put in a PIP. 🌹

I hope the story ends that DH gets in a position to oust this bully. That would be great.

Is the poster who voted you as U the former boss?

Very pleased for your DH.

Well I think it has, old boss threw everything they had at making sure DH’s name was mud. Tried to get him sacked only 4 months ago. Poisoned every job application and transfer he put in for the best part of a year. Then somehow missed the last one and he got the job. Pulled every trick in the book to make sure he had £0 bonus and 0% but this role he got actually transferred to a different cost centre so the restriction/ recommendation for nothing got disregarded and his new manager said he deserves a bonus. So the bonus he got in his new role actually ended up being higher than any bonus he’d have got in his old role even as a top performer.

he’ll also be on the intranet and on group calls as an up and coming star in his new area. There’s some sort of reward for that too, not sure what yet. Come on, that’s gotta sting when you tried your best to ruin that person

I'm so it may be dissatisfying for the old boss but he hardly got his comeuppance or dreaded karma did he. He just didn't get his way. But he hasn't been punished or suffered a loss

Hey don’t piss on my chips sis, I’m taking this as a win, so is dh. Perhaps there is something going on behind the scenes we don’t know about, even if they’d get sacked, they’d hardly be shamed marched and paraded in front of everyone for us all to find out. Maybe they’ll get theirs in the future. But for now, dh came out smelling of roses and 9k richer. I’ll take it
