Who else knew Depeche Mode were about 12!!!

I remember Depeche Mode songs really well from school discos & Top of the Pops etc in the 80s.

But I didn't really follow them, I was a bit young I think, I was more into Duran Duran, Adam & the Ants, Wham and Bananarama.

So I never paid them much attention. I just remember them as grown up men in suits.

This video popped up on Facebook today and OMFG they're babies, aren't they!! They look like they're about 12! I feel very old very proud of them all of a sudden

Did anyone else not realise this, or am I the only one?

Yeah I discovered exactly this this week when I saw an old video of them on Facebook. Was staggered by how young they were

They look about 18/20. Lots of band members are young when starting out. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I loved them then and I love them still. Agree that Somebody is just beautiful. A perfect song to walk down the aisle to. Someone mentioned earlier about living in Basildon - me too. I'd sometimes see them walking around the town centre when I was bunking off school! Also saw them all at Basildon train station once when I was going up to London to visit my nan and grandad - I must've been about 14 at the time.

Wow @IjustbelieveinMe I've not seen that video before. Dave does indeed look very sexy, though I'm a Martin fan myself. The rest of them must've been thinking "Oh shit Dave what are you doing?!" He was absolutely off his face.
